This! Plus I don't like to start the car to move it such a short distance, it's too noisy and risks annoying the neighbours plus it's not good for the engine.
But if you're coming back from a run, which is fairly likely, why not just drive it straight into the garage when you get back? When I got back from a hoon, I'd always stop on the drive way, jump out and open the garage door before driving in. Only took all of 30 secs extra.

If you have stopped on the drive for some reason, then I can understand to some extent. Although with the low mileage of any 7, I don't get the not good for the engine argument. It's in a 7, that's not very good for an engine long term either!

Always push it in /out of the garage. It's not exactly difficult!

If I have the garage door fob with me I'll probably put it straight in after a blat, but if I'm working in the garage, I'll just push it in and out as my drive is flat it's (normally) a doddle!

Good point, but I always give the car a quick wash and wipe down when I get back from a blat (there's generally always horse st on the rear arches) and also let the car cool down as I find if it goes back in the garage straight away it makes it smell of oil. Whilst I love that post blat hot oil smell, my missus doesn't irked

On the not so good for the engine thing (and I stand by to be corrected on this) I have forged pistons and was told as they're slightly undersized compared to the bore of the liners it's best to minimise cold running as much as possible. No idea if it's true though!

My garage is simply too tight to risk driving in between the racks, lawnmower, kids bikes, yada yada.... without risking pranging a rear wheelarch on something. And since the approach to the garage is sloped and uneven stone slabs, I have to line it up and push the rollbar from behind stopping to make corrections to the steering as I go. OK in the dry, difficult to get enough purchase on the slippery stones in the wet without changing to intermediate footwear!

Actually I've found the best solution is a small child to sit in and take instructions on small steering corrections, once they've mastered left and right of course.... (it's OK officer, I use a child of my own..) driving

Back to the OP, I have also run over my own foot whilst manoeuvring the car but I wouldn't say that it even hurt. Did you have tyres on?!

If only you had an SV, I could make some appropriate lard-arse comment... tumbleweed
As it's actually similar spec to mine... err, you must be pushing much faster than me!
