Standard engine, apart from the Magnecor leads @ £90 a set plus shipping, any body have any other recommendations for leads?

Thanks

Would sir like the sarcastic answer or the save yourself all your money and get something that works answer?

The question is why are you changing them now? I'd be very surprised if they have failed but if they have, go to Eurocarparts or Halfords and get a set of standard plugs.

Magnecour and others would have you believe their leads reduce noise (as in electrical) which can improve your cars performance, ste like gold plated plugs etc but seriously save your money.

From you Stig, all your answers are sarcastic !! wink

When I had the headers changed on Friday, one of the leads broke. It's got a new standard Ford lead on at the moment that Stick kindly gave me to get me home. Car ran fine on Sunday.

Just wanted peoples thoughts on weather super dooper leads are good for another 20RWHP and are only the way to go or just stick another OEM set on.

Many thanks for the kind offer Stewart but I'm OK for now thumbup

when it comes to ht leads its proven that 99% of the time you're upgrading to a downgrading with free ringdingding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjO-D06ujPw

With many things you cant beat OEM, even brake pads or oil

Aye mostly sarcastic with a hint of saveyousomemoneytightnorthernbds.com in there as well. Stick to OEM for plugs and leads, magenecour if you want some fancy colours (oh and if you want a real upgrade, copper tip plugs too = less money but change more often

Now tell us about how long they last, and how often you have to re-gap them to keep the clearance optimal. rolleyes

20k miles, regap in such a short time? The tolerance will be enough. Fancy picking a cracked platinum tip out of your chamber?

Gap it right and by the time its due to be changed the gap will hardly have changed (if at all) and even if the gap does increase the spark will then lower to the highest quality of platinum. First thing I did on the ro was ditch for NGKs and got a much better response to the spark map... gotta be worth 20bhp wink
