Does anyone use Wix fort heir website? I've played with the free account and it seems pretty good but before I part with my cash i thought I'd ask if anyone here used it and had any thoughts, good or bad....

Thanks!

My guess is that you'll be stuck with them forever because once you stop paying your site will be gone.

To be fair that is the case with a lot of hosted services.

My suggestion to the OP, would be look at the more Photography oriented websites - Zenfolio/Photoshelter etc.

Hi Neil,

I use Wix for my site.

My experiences with it have all been positive, but I fear I’m only scratching the surface of what it can do.

I only use the free version so cannot help with any paid for privileges you get with a premium account, I’m afraid.

It’s nothing fancy but it’s good enough for me; it’s fairly easy to set-up (hell, I did it myself so…) and configure. The free version does everything I want at the moment, so haven’t looked at the premium features in detail.

It’s here if you wanna have a look. It’s more of a hobby site than a fully-fledged business site.

A friend of mine has just switched to instaproofs, from WIX, and absolutely loves it. I believe it can be used for free, too, but it can be used to sell/print your images, too. I am yet to look into it myself so my knowledge is very vague.

HTH

Thanks guys. Unfortunately my current hosting wont let you install Wordpress in a root directory which as it turns out is pretty useless. which is a shame. Hence looking at other alternatives.

For Wordpress hosting I've been using TSOhost for a few years & really pleased with the service.

I'm sure there's a PH preferred host too if you look on the business/technology sub forums?
