How did I miss this!!! Pretty cringe but I've been pissing myself here!!!

The T shirt guys awesome!!!!
If you liked this episode but missed the first series - try and find it!! It puts a lot of things into context. The underlying tension about Sniper & Michelle's baby Angel etc - Her explanation is comedy gold.

Lots more Chabuddy G antics too.

Watched this for the first time a couple of days ago. Random (though at time 'Gervaisesque' I thought) and made me genuinely LOL.

Glad to find a thread on this, been watching it since the first pilot episode and a great start to the 2nd series! I recommend youtubing their appearance on BBC radio 6xtra (live streaming vid in the studio) and Grindah annihalating the presenter in a rap off (or whatever it's called)

Their crossover/trailer/whatever it was "appearance on Dragons Den" thing (also on youtube) was st though

Not sure who at the BBC thought that would work, but it didn't

Steves mother made me laugh.
I love the way it's cringey but in a good way like t-shirt guy (sorry cannot think of name) wandering round talking to all the children for work.

Caught this by cahnce last night, loved it and have watched all the rest on iplayer today. I loved that part where she said Angel had dark skin because she used so much fake tan whilst she was pregnant whilst Decoy stands there looking sheepish rofl

Was browsing iplayer, and thought, 'this looks interesting'. 30 seconds in, realised it was a brilliant and I knew I would like it. Particularly enjoyed the eggboxes.

Only discovered PJDN recently, so I downloaded everything from 'on demand' to catch-up. Absolutely terrific stuff, great acting, great plots, and great unexpected sub-plots (Steve's nan for example!). A real gem in a sea of utter dross.

PJDN reminds me very much of 15 Storeys high (which I consider to be one of the funniest comedies ever made!) i.e. it launched on BBC3 (Choice) with pretty much zero promotion on other channels. 15SH only got two series before being canned, and I can see the same happening to PJDN.

Here we are droppin' some K's on PH!

Been a fan since I stumbled across it in series 1 smile

I read somewhere that its based on an actual documentary - part of which can be found on youtube called southend pirate radio.

Well worth checking out, you can clearly see where a lot of the content has come from real life.

Its refreshing to see something original like this, makes a change from all the usual tat, it feels much more real having grown up in west london myself (not in a tower block I add) biggrin

Been a fan since they launched their episodes on youtube before the BBC got involved.

So close to the truth. it reminds me of lush fm which broadcast from on top of a newsagents in Edgware back in 1997.

First series was good, but I found this second series a bit flat. Saying that, last nights episode was getting better and it did make me chuckle. Surprisingly close to how some of the inner city yoof really are.

How odd. Just watched the documentary or most of it, I don't know where the end is?
Anyhow, in the real documentary they have a letter from some woman who said her man is going to sort it and here it is repeated on PJDN. Lazy writing or taking the piss?

On the whole I think it is really good and I love some of the comments on YouTube who think it is a real pirate station.

Strangely I found out that a friend of mine was running a pirate radio station in the late 90s which is quite odd really as it was transmitting from a small town.

Amazed they got away with it as being detected would be much easier although as far as I know they has a small receiver and the main high power transmitter running of either a car battery or more likely hacked mains wiring so it's more like a relay site. So when the DTI/Ofcom come and take the equipment they dont find all their decks etc and makes them harder to find.

Last time I drove down to London I was amazed at the number of pirate sites mainly in Essex. Some were quite good to be honest.

Yeh, was chatting to someone once years ago who claimed to run one, and they used to do exactly that. The only thing that was ever confiscated was the relay site, which was away from the actual centre.

Never heard of this until it was on BBC3, watched the youtube shorts and it does seem like Grindah has been softened a bit. And poor old Chabuddy laugh

Series 1 is on iPlayer! biggrin

I love the back-story about Grindah & Michelle in the first few episodes.

"Ah, she was BEAUTIFUL when I met her."

"Still love her now, though."
