I've a not so small and not so slow RC boat that needs a good run, wondering if anyone knows of a lake/gravel pit where these are acceptable in farnborough or maidenhead area. Preferably somewhere with easy access, no fishing people (they get tetchy!)?

If it had a boating club where we could beg/borrow a row boat to rescue the damn thing when it flips that would be good too!

A dim and distant memory tells me that Black Park Lake (near George Green, between Uxbridge and Slough and as featured in many Hammer Horror films) has R/C boats on Sunday mornings.

Black Park is no I/C if that matters. I'm told that the old Kingfishers lake at North Camp Station is apparently still there but completely overgrown. So an opportunity if you can find some mates!

This is in Eversley. They do water skiing there so I doubt the size/speed/noise would be a problem.

As someone said above, Hawley lake!(farnbrough/blackwater border)

They do wake boarding etc here so speed/noise no problem and there is a boat club with public access.

I live about 200 foot from it and im there twice a day with dogface so ill keep an eye out for you

Ah, I seem to recall it all being a bit sedate.

Perhaps a little further away but Spelthorne Model Boat Club did live at Thorpe opposite Magnet's junction to the trading estate which definitely did run fast noisy boats!
Don't go that way much these days but appears to be a fishing lake now but perhaps some locals will confirm if passing

Edited to say Elmbridge Model Boat Club and it is still active

There's one in Basingstoke, on the run into the main shopping area from the M3 it's on the left.

Eastrop Park, it has been there for a while, it is on the site I listed above. Used to sail there when I lived in Basingstoke from 71-85. It used to have a weed problem but I believe that got sorted.
