Zombie Apocalypse Daily Driver Challenge.
Discussion
I'm glad someone else mentioned it, because all these landrovers et al are flawed by having too much rubbish for the clump of zombies to hang off. secondly as we know, landrovers are not reknown for reliability, but it will depend on circumstances as to what you get trapped near to, or resources, when the zombie apocalypse starts.
for example the best, securest building to me would probably be skipton castle, so I'd need to somehow get the few miles there to safety.
travelling long distances might not be the best idea.
secondly vehicle noise: all these trucks are too noisy.
so you need a quiet car, that is sleek. so how about a prius ?
secondly we need to quantify the type of zombie for this thread to work.
If we're talking the atypical 1970's zombie, with their slow dawdling walk and responses, then pretty much any vehicle is ok, but clearly big tyres and a massive front bumper is a must. feasibly a sunroof for added escapeage is required.
Now for some reason in the last 40 years, zombies seem to have become faster, more aware, i.e your "walking dead" zombie.
in that case as has been proven, many vehicles simply don't work. pretty much you need a tank, with the ability to live on board for a week, in a locked down, self sealed biological fashion.
not that I have given this some thought you understand.

I actually have told my wife, the reason I need to store so much wood in the shed is in case the zombie's come, we can protect ourselves by securing boarding the windows up. Oh no, they won't be catching me out.
I also said the same about my new petrol chainsaw last year: it will be handy when the clumps of zombies arrive.
you have to plan ahead.

Just because I could. Amateur.
Au contraire, my diligent but wholly misdirected friend.I have thought about this for several hours solid now, and I have the answer. No EMP, no broken down Defender, none of it.
There's a scene in The Walking Dead where they smear themselves in blood and muck to fit in with their new social group.
This is the automotive equivalent of that. While you're simultaneously battling a bad case of the They All Do That Sirs and getting ambushed by hordes of angry undead 3 Series drivers, I'll be quietly shuffling around the Waitrose car park at 9mph, in ever-oblivious air conditioned luxury, straw hat on the parcel shelf, biding my time.
Defeating the point of the OP somewhat, I'm not going for something that will last forever (though the right model won't do a bad impression).
I'm going for something where you will be able to find parts and replace things. Good, because you'll need to. Machines that don't require maintenance are a myth.
A large enclosed space doesn't hurt either.
