Sorry Jim, no offense meant, I like some of CWs designs. By Fashion I meant that if you look at gent's watches from the 40s through to the late 90s/early 2000s they were usually 34mm-39mm. It's only in the last 10-15 years that manufacturers have made such large watches in the 42mm-45mm range. That to me is a modern fashion, it's not a derogatory word just a fact. And that's me generalising because someone will now point to a vintage watch of 40mm dia. but you take my point.

No offense taken, I do take your point. The C60 is close to the limit of what I could wear really.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I quite like the suggestions but will probably stick to the christopher ward (in a darker colour) or hamilton.
I'm guessing from the comments neither will disappoint.

Consider the C61, 38mm down from 42.

I have to agree with some of the comments made about the C60. I have a C60 GMT with a Bracelet. I have quite a narrow wrist, and yes its very heavy and does take over you wrist. After some adjustments at a local Jeweler, the winder still digs into my hand. Also i have a C11 which is my favorite time piece at the moment. The C7 Rapide Mk1 Chronograph is a nice and light watch with a large Dial. Still puts a smile on my face. Good luck finding the wright watch.

Shame the Tissot is so large or that would have been a no brainer.

Steinhart over CW for me but there are plenty of nice things to see on the Page and Cooper website too.

I'm no watch expert, but isn't it best to decide on a style first? You seem to have a Dive, Sports Chrono and Pilot there, so three different styles.

Out of those I'd take the Hamilton, but the c60 in Charcoal or Black is a good choice. Also look at Steinhart as others have said.

I've just bought a CW C8 Pilot U2 Vintage and love it.

I have all 3, can't remember the tissot model, the Hamilton is a khaki navy, and only last week I took delivery of a cw c11.

Hamilton every time for me, just feels and looks so much better, too be honest I'm very disappointed with the CW if I'm honest.

Interesting. What in particular's disappointing about the CW?

I have a several CWs and a Tissot. CW easily matches or even surpasses Tissot quality imho

Get a C60 trident, you will not go far wrong. As others have said i would opt for another colour though

I'd be looking at Longines, too, at that price point, personally.

Good call on Longines. Though I expect it'd have to be second-hand to be within budget.

Probably, I was looking at the prices on the links, you'd struggle to get a new Longines for £500, but it'll net you a good 'cherished' (smile) one.

Of those you list, I like the Hamilton best.

Just a quick update to give this thread some closure, I have bit the bullet and gone for a Longines Hydroconquest automatic (Blue bezel and face).

I ended up buying it from an independent jewellers and got some discount so i was happy to pay a little above the Web price due to the service etc.

Overall i am very pleased with my purchase and it puts a smile on my face.
