fuel gauge said 17 litres...but on fact not a drop!
odd as it has been fine
presume the sender is just decided to lie to me for some reason...
are they easy enough to replace?
any other suggestions?
Should be easy enough to replace, mounted on the panel to the right of the tank, same access for pump(s).odd as it has been fine

As you know they are very nervous at lower levels, (8ltr,2ltr,4ltr oh I give up!) but 17ltrs when empty must mean a failure...

I've currently got my passenger side ECU for repair with Paul Smith PS solutions, which means the passenger door & boot are immobilised while its out-thus, unable to put any fuel in while I wait for the repair
Use the alternative entry method for the boot then. Problem solved!shep1001 said:
Float switch is probably stuck. Access via the plate on the fuel tank about £20 if it needs replacing
almost...the sender had become detached from the mounting in the tank, so was floating about sending whatever signal it thoughtprobably caused by me when i replaced the fuel pumps with uprated ones...so can't really blame the car...at least it was sunny whilst i waited at the side of the road for a man with fuel to arrive
