I don't think they are the same.
I do think they are Ford.

I had to replace mine a couple of years ago - perished and allowing mice in - and the best fits i could find were:

Gear lever - I think it was either a Ford Fiesta or Escort - the difficulty is finding one with a big enough circumference at the base so that you could rivet it in.
Brake - I think that comes off a Ford Grandada or Sierra, and I had to shorten the one I did get.

This is for external rather than internal gaiter but cant see why it wouldn't do the job http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/universal-co... ....or.... http://www.mevspares.co.uk/GEAR-LEVER-RUBBER-GAITE... ... and then ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-GT-68-80-GEAR-LEVER-... ... and then! .....and then! ....and then!

I bought the MGB one - I lived close to the MGBhive at the time. It is a little tricky to rivet into place. The Ford one fitted the shape of the surround to which you rivet it better.
