Hi,

I'll be doing the following trip and would be grateful if you could please give me some tips on great driving roads enroute:

Driving Day 1
North London to Calais (via Eurotunnel)
Calais to Reims

Driving Day 2
Reims to Chamonix

Driving Day 3
Chamonix to Modena

Driving Day 4
Modena to Switerland (final destination undecided) doing the St Gotthard Pass and Grimsel Pass.

Driving Day 5
Undecided

Driving Day 6
Arrive at Calais

Really would be grateful for some ideas.

Thanks,
R

Can't help much sorry. Normally only do these trips in a wagon so boring motorways, but even the motorway from Macon down to Chamonix/Mont Blanc is a beautiful drive in both the summer and winter.
Modena is nice, and the Ferrari museum even though it was smaller than i was expecting i really enjoyed it. Plenty of shops all around it selling all things Ferrari smile

I'm sure plenty of others on here will give you some cracking routes, enjoy your trip.

You could try Modena to Lugano, then head to Andermatt. You could quickly check if the Furka pass has no queues on it. If it does continue on the motorway to junction 39 on E35 and take the Susten pass. Both passes will take you to Brienz.

Coming down from the mountain there's a great little rustic cafe on the road for lunch.

Prior to Brienz take the 8 to Lucerne and head to Strasbourg for your overnight stop.

It would be a long day probably 7 am to 5.30pm.

The roads are fantastic.
