Not consider Dot 5.1 as better than both?
Find me a DOT 5.1 with better BP characteristics please (i.e. what you are looking for in a high performance brake fluid).

Pass on the DOT 5.1, hadn't given it much thought. But the number is higher, so it must be better! Same goes for anything with an X in the name...

If you haven't had your recall done might be a idea to get them to do it at the same time rather than twice
Oh yeah, you've just reminded me this is happening as well.

I had two identical ninjas and ran both on the track/road back to back

One had new braided lines, full rebuild and new identical pads
The other normal lines, full rebuild and new identical pads

Both obviously flushed through with new fluid.

Did I notice any difference, nope I honestly didn’t certainly not in braking performance. However id almost certainly go for braided hoses.

look better, not too dear and more sturdy
hang on hang on I smell something!

So you can ride the tyres off on track getting elbow down and all that st yet not be able to tell difference between Braided and flexo rubber brake hoses?
You do know that a motorcycle braking system only runs about 25-30psi even under extremely heavy braking. The rubber lines usually have a textile braid underneath, and aren't swelling like your grandma's feet under that sort of pressure.

Braided lines looks nice, but you'd notice more of a gain by changing your fluid than using the old fluid with new lines.

All of that said, I've had them before and I'd have them again because I'm a tart.

I had them but as above, they make bugger all difference unless your existing rubber lines are perished. Biggest difference will come from cleaning out the brake callipers, making sure the pistons are not corroded and clean them, lubricate them, make sure the dust covers are clean and flexible if you have them, new pads which are suited to track days and clean, true disks with new fluid.

Once you've done all that then look at braided lines . . . or nice HEL black lines like I had, if they still sell them ?

I didn't notice a huge change moving from rubber to braided lines. I did notice a HUGE difference when fitting higher performance pads. If it's braking force you're after, change the pads first, if you just want your bike to look cool, go with the lines first.

You can get them in different colours, I have mine in white to match my bike and they do look better than standard. Can't say I can feel much difference but its never going to be a step backwards is it!
