I'm not affiliated in anyway. But they make a bloody good pizza.
The medium size pizza is about half a meter in length and very satisfying, especially if you can eat it by yourself.
The large one, is about the size of the dining table; i've yet to order this.

not been there but have done most pizza places
want to try the pizza pilgrim joint - salivating - the one nearest me is papagone- see link but there is a great one also on stroud green road called Venice, brilliant take away

I like really. really thin and crispy base. the best I've had was in France paper thin. Now I've tried making my own dough in a bread machine with only marginal success, too stick to roll really thin. Anyone tried ready made pizza dough?

Totally agree. A large Dominoes with a stuffed crust is £17!!!! Even a small one is £8. Where in the name of the wee man do they arrive at that.

We make the dough in our bread maker but you don't roll it, you need to stretch it. It doesn't take a lot of practice and you'll then get it thin enough to see through. Don't worry if it isn't perfectly round. Go for the rustic look!

We always have 'Pizza Friday' so if anyone's interested, I'll take some photos this week and you can see how well the Chadwick oven works.

If I get a takeaway pizza, it has to have a very thin & crispy base as I can't stand the doughy ones.

If I make my own, I do it using a baguette as the base.

I used to make my own bases but then discovered the JusRol ones with sauce too! 2xmedium pizza bases in a packet and they're are wafer thin. The only thing that is a minor niggle is they're rectangular, not circular.

Otherwise, there's no looking back as far as I'm concerned.

I made my own this week. I Googled Dominos pizza dough and made a dough which was quite chewy. Used a large frying pan and started it on my induction hob on the power setting then under a very hot grill. I made my own sauce using a tin of tomatoes reduced on the stove for about an hour with a few anchovy fillets, garlic, balsamic and some sugar.

I've tried this, it ends up with holes in it. A messy business.

I spend half my time in the US for work, and finding good pizza is hard work.

Either it is dull pizza, some cheese and pepperoni swimming in oil, or the other extreme of just daft stuff because they can. Example being tonight, Cauliflower. WTF? Seriously????

There is some mental stuff on pizza over here. We're lucky to have a few good ones locally.

My in laws delight in telling me how weird they thought pizza in the UK was because there was one with corn on. They spat feathers when I pointed out American pizza was largely garbage and dominos and papa johns have been putting corn on pizzas here for at least 10 years. biggrin

I'd probably eat Pizza every day if wasnt so carb conscious! I'm also not fussy how it comes, I enjoy a fully loaded geasy deep pan meat feast as much as a thin and crispy Marinara with extra anchovies.

God I want a pizaa now!

Reminds me of the time i went round my sisters. There on the side was a bacon cheese burger wrapped up, i said 'ooh, who's is that' she said 'its mine if you want it, but it's been there since yesterday morning and has a bite out of it'

my OH made some 'urgh' type disapproving noise at the prospect of me eating it.

So far I have tried Santa Maria in Ealing, both the Franco Manca Brixton and Chiswick branches (yet to try Westfield) and the Soho branch of Pizza Pilgrims. I'm a sucker for a proper pizza, by proper I mean Neapolitan style as anything else is just wrong.

I live in Leeds but I've done trips down to London just to have a pizza, having free train travel at the time really helped! I'm off down to watch Millwall vs Leeds in a few weeks and I've already arranged to have lunch at the new Pizza Pilgrims branch at Kingly Court. I may even nip into Westfield Franco Manca for dinner if I have time.

I get told I have a "pizza problem" because I have one a week - I feel a lot better now!

I've tried Franco Manca, but I think I have to try out the metre long pizza place next time I'm down in London.

Can anyone reccomend any good pizza places in the Midlands, that aren't the usual chains?
