So, I have the pleasure of 2 weeks in (well, just outside) Philadelphia coming up soon with work.

I'll be on my own at the hotel, and have a weekend over there, so to keep myself occupied I've found a local shop which will rent out a Madone 3.1 for $150 a week, nice step up from my bike.

Anyway, I want to take and use my Garmin 705. What is the best way to get the map of the local area on the device? I already have uk maps on a sad card, but the site I got them from don't have US maps. Any recommendations for sites where I can select an area and convert it to a version the device will recognise? Obviously I don't want the whole of the USA map.

TIA

This website http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/05/download-garmin... pretty much says all you need to know.
The free open source map website is here: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/

Simply 'create' your own map, hit the download or create button (can't remember) sit back and with for your email (1-3 days depending on how busy) and then simply download for free. I've used it and it's great! I also have a 705.

Nice one, I'll take a look later when I'm back on the laptop.
