And then maybe, similar to the chap in Brunei, will then never use then and leave them to rot. I am thinking here of all the one off Italian and British supercars that were bought, and never ever used.
I think it was mostly the Sultan's brother that went on the spending sprees, but they kept Aston Martin (and probably Rolls-Royce/Bentley) afloat for many years with the specials. If he was still buying like the 90's, he'd would of had a red, yellow, dark green and black version of every one, as was his want.
Most important thing is that the dashboard has a few green screen CRTs for speed, fuel, etc (all with 1970s computer fonts). Get that right and I don't care about the rest..
FWIW when I did a tour of the Newport Pagnell servicing area (tends to be for older cars / wealtheir customers) about 10 years ago, they had 2-3 Lagondas in for servicing. All from Middle East (all battered with desert sand) and this was the norm apparently.

When are Aston going to stop messing around and develop some kind of strategy? They seem to put all their effort into making stuff up as they go along and never capitalising on any of it.
When Bez fks off back to his maracas and Dave Richards goes back to producing Queen albums. Ghastly leaches milking their pension plan. 365daytonafan said:
Wonder if the only available in the middle east is because Aston doesn't want the expense of putting it through European and American emissions and crash testing?
That's exactly what I was thinking. Just give the Middle East an 'old fashioned' car that has loads of luxury, power and style without having to worrry about pedestrian safety regs, CO2 testing, car tax rates etc.China has big tax rates on engines over 4 litres (hence everybody moving to 4 litre turbo V8s) so it isn't a viable place to sell this car either.

Good grief! Is that for real?
Grab yourself a weekend and David Dowsey's beautifully illustrated book ‘Aston Martin: Power, Beauty and Soul’ which includes a whole raft of specials built for an anonymous 'far-eastern customer'.http://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/book-revie...

Formerly British car maker so exclusive that no Brits can buy one. Thanks Aston Martin.
No different to the 50s. Barely any Brits could buy Brit sports car then due to the "export or die" mantra. This is Aston pursuing an exactly similar strategy.RichB said:

You shouldn't speak ill of the dead - he died last December Mind you, he could probably do a better job even now.

Aston building a car that isn't a resized DB9? That front end treatment reminds of something else too. Strangely due to the hard edges and slab surfacing the camo actually does little to disguise the lines
