Just a reminder in case people weren't aware that it is Classics on the Common in Harpenden next Wednesday, 30th July.

Usually a great event with plenty to look at, cars arriving from early afternoon and usually busy until late so come after work.

What's the story with this?

Can you just turn up and park on the common or what?

I'll likely ride over there. Parking can be difficult once the main car park next to the event fills!

I shall be along at around 16:00, although I won't be showing anything this year.

Info here. Places are full for this year to display your car so it's just a case of finding somewhere on the road or in the carparks and walking down to have a look around, have some drinks/food from the pubs and generally have a pleasant evening!

NB: roads can be very busy getting into Harpenden on the main roads on this night!

By that, do you mean the 458 Spider which wears that plate?

There was talk of making it for cars only over 10 years old due to the popularity. I guess that went by the wayside! smile

I'll pop along. As alreay said, there's usually some lovely tackle there.

Just gotten back, such a superb variety of cars, there really was something for everyone.

The highlight for me would have to be the F50, I've never seen one up close in the flesh, so it was an absolute treat to witness.

Can't wait to have the Range Rover done for next year smile

Really good this year such an awesome selection of cars to look at! Felt like a more civilised version of the Friday at Le Mans!

Ddin't make it down there but a few of the Mustang lads did, seen some pics already looked a superb turnout smile

I wonder if the F50 is the same one that has made appearance at the Clophill Supercar meets...hmmm

Fairly certain the owner of F40 not with the Ferrari group has been to Clophill in either a CGT or a flatnose 911 in martini livery (or both).

lick

I wish he'd taken the CGT.

Was a cracking evening out. Particularly like the 599 GTO and the NSX Type R. Hadn't seen either of those in the flesh before and certainly had a presence about them!

There was a lovely turquoise Chevelle SS as well cloud9

I thought that fella had an F50 - does he have an F40 as well!!? Gready smile

Plate on the F50 was F50 CH.

F1 TMT. Great looking thing. I was stood by the road as he crawled up and a young lad, probably around 7-8 years old asked him to rev it. The noise could make a grown man weep....superb.

Highlights for me were the F50, 599 GTO, Cavalier GSi and just the general variety. Its superb, hats off to the guys who organise it.

Great event as usual

Highlights: Daytona Competizione...even if this was a replica, still a serious amount of cash and all credit to the owner bringing it along. Fast fords. Also, policeman pulling up a passing driver for being on his mobile whilst cars were hooning about all around him smile

Lowlights: I usually avoid negative comments (if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything etc) but the Ferrari tent and flags. Again. Bad call in my opinion. Get over yourselves. Please don't do it next year.

Fewer bikes than previous years I thought (not that I am that interested). I guess the £5 charge put people off parking on common, previous years I think it was free.

There was a really nice old blue Bugatti I liked
