Normally I would be crying fake but as these are from Amazon do we think they could be real??

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KKGNUWO/ref=dra_a_cs...

Not really looking for some but am off on holiday for a while so if real at that price I may treat myself and get rid of my b&w in ear phones as find uncomfy.

Any help appreciated and have a good day.

For my ears definitely good enough for the lower price not too sure if its the best option for the full price though. But then to say only going to be used on planes really not too fussed about spending too much.

At full price, these are ok.... at that price, these are a bargain. Beautifully made and sound very good.

Bought myself a set, will take them to the local b&o shop to get verified. Hopefully they will be right though as checked goggle maps and they do have a physical store on a industrial estate in Middlesex and reviews seem okay for them.

You: Hello mr B&O retailer, I've deprived you of a sale buying cheap stuff of the internet, can you tell me if they're fake?

Retailer: the door is behind you

Would you take a car to a back street garage for work then take it to the main dealer to verify the parts?

There was also a thread, I think on watches, where fake goods were confiscated by the manufacturer.

Completely agree with everything you said and was thinking the same the night I bought them, therefore I cancelled the order as just couldnt risk the loss when donf really need a new set.

It's a tricky one as sometimes there are bargains but usually when they're clearing stock for a new model. If there was a reason for the discount then they'd be worth the punt, I'd just like to have a clue to why as 50% isn't playing with margin

Usually in the case of B&O if it's cheap the dealer is probably facing shutdown anyway so is offloading stock. Franchise agreements and tight margins on the Play stuff would mean you're risking having your franchise taken off you if you discount so it's pretty short-term minded if they're doing it. Mind you, there are some dealers that just want the turnover and will flog whatever they can get - but don't expect any aftersales service, or help with installations etc etc in the case of big ticket stuff like TVs etc.

Besides even if you took it to a B&O dealer and asked if it is legit/or warranty claim and you don't know who supplied it they can check serial number as to supplying dealer. This is how some unscrupulous dealers get their franchise taken off them by supplying stock to non-franchised resellers. Customer goes to legit dealer asking for help as to why something isn't working and busted.

Right then in an effort to properly ps off the missus I've bought a set as they have come back down in price, both av direct (through Amazon) and a place called peter Tyson have these for sale at £179.99. Peter Tyson seem to have a lot of good reviews and two physical stores seen on google street map, av direct has a physical warehouse which can also be seen and surely the fact that Amazon are holding the stock has to count for something.

Shouldn't receive them tomorrow so will try to update then and hopefully they will be real and we can all bag a bargain, I'm counting this as my good deed for the year!!

Recieved them yesterday, all seems as it should as have read that the give away is the quality of the soft bag.

Sound is good and they are worth the money paid, not sure if worth full price but still breaking in.

All said I'm happy with them and if anyone else was thinking of grabbing a pair I would say go for it.

I have a pair of GRADO SR80i's (that I paid £90 for) at home which I love listening to but the bass is easily overloaded and given they're open backed tend to P off everyone around me making a recluse wink I'm not sure if anyone has heard these but I'd be interested to know if the B&O set can match or beat them especially if they're a closed back.

Peter Tyson is my local shop and therefore I can vouch for them.
Bought telly, phone, stereo and Loewe TV from them in the past.

They are closed back but there is significant leakage of sound out of the headphones so may not be waht youre after. I do listen to music fairly loud but not too the max! Try them out put at your preferred volume and ask the sales chap to put on to test.

they are good for the money though.
