On a brighter note,it failed just on the 2 no number plate lights not working.....bulbs changed and still don`t work...so next stop..check fuse....but which one for number plate ?

I guess the horn doesn't work either ?

Looks like it should be 5 or 6, or maybe 7 or 8 - depending on whether they should come on with sidelights or headlights.

Don't forget the other half of the circuit - they need an earth!

If all the other lights are working, it's not fuses 5,6,7,8,9 or 10. However it's probable that the number plate light is connected to one of these fuses (most likely 5 or 6) so your problem is not a fuse. As LLL says, it could be the earth, or you might need to look for a broken or loose wire.

Thanks all. Mot tester had a quick look me and thought there was a fair bit of corrosion insde the lights.just thought it would be a good starting point checking the fuse first.

Have you checked for power at the wires at the back lights?

Sounds like they are corroded

Number plate lights are on the sidelight fuse not seperate and TBH 9 times out of 10 if the sidelights work then it's rust, numberplate lights are never sealed as well as rear lights.
