Finally at the point of trying to fire her up today after bloody countless hours. It seems recently everyone was one step forward, two steps back, starting to hate this car.

Spend hours in the baking sun today trying to get the exhaust to fit, the de-cat I had made was ever so slightly thicker so I can to cut longer slits in the main section and open up the pipe, try, re-do, try again. Ball ache.
Then I realised the I'd put the fuel lines in the way, I did the return in Flexy and it was too close to the centre section. So I removed and re-did in hard line which I should have done in the first place really.
When I put the de-cat on I realise the VR sensor was touching, so had to make a new bracket.
I sealed on the plenum without first connecting the throttle cable or stepper vacuum pipe so that had to come back off and fanny around cleaning off the sealant.

Finally finished all the wiring today, turned the ignition, everything seems ok, YES!
Fuel leak - crap! split pipe from pump to filter, the one piece i hadn't changed.
Stepper motor is making a whining type noise - constant hum/electrical noise? Any ideas what this might be? I'm guessing wired wrong but I'm sure I checked and double checked it.

Go to connect to the ECU (MS2) so I can change the settings after moving the VR sensor and the bluetooth-serial adapter I bought from China doesn't work with my laptop (OSX 10.8) - CRAP! That will teach me for trying to be fancy and not just use old fashioned cables.

So now i've got to find/buy a serial -> USB cable tomorrow so I can hopefully, fingers crossed, finally start her up.
But at least everything is back together in the engine bay, it's a shame the paint on the outside isn't as clean

That looks really good. I do like the look of the bolted manifolds compared to the later ones. I've done a couple of basic things recently when renewing cables and realised that there is very little space to re-route them due to the lack of usable space in the bay. MS2 for me later in the year now.

Yeah I think the earlier ones look better, gives a nice industrial appearance but then again I'm biased wink But they are very easy to fit, no need to straps etc.
There is a bit of room behind the plenum but not loads, I wanted to try and hide all the wiring where possible but gave up in the end

Yeah you gave me the serial cable, but my laptops don't have serial ports, I'm picking up a USB - > Serial cable tomorrow then I'll sort out the bluetooth afterwards so it works on my phone/tablet.

Brett the Tuner studio registration had been paid by me and was in the ECU ,maybe sending it away to be upgrades has caused the problem ,why not ask Philip Ringwood .

It asks for it when you install the software on the computer, before connecting to the ECU, Just like a normal license/registration code. It's not part of the ECU as it's ran from your computer.
When you bought it, they would have emailed you a license code, so then when you installed it on your computer it would be activated

So is the Autotune upgrade gone ? if he had left the ECU as it was it would still be in the ECU ,well i think so .

I bought it via paypal ,would it be possible for me to find the registration and password for you ?

Would it be in my lap top ? when i open a Tune it is in the Tune .Would it work if i sent a Tune with the megatune thing in it ?

No luck getting it started today frown

I had fuel lines wrong way round. Going into the fuel pressure reg, so swapped them over. Stepper motor is back to front so had to re wire that.

Anyone have any advice as to what might be stopping it from firing? Cranks, I have fuel and spark as I've whipped out plugs to test and also used the test function in tuner studio. The tps has been set. All sensors are working. The vr sensor is 7 teeth past the missing so that's set at 70' .
I'm not sure what I'm missing? It's driving me a bit insane

Ps leads are moroso 8mm ones I made up
