Some guy claims Beast of Bodmin caught on camera for his photo of a fox.

Beast of Bodmin

Fox

Why do the papers publish such obvious rubbish!

Although it does look a little cat like in that photo the white jaw identifies it obviously as a fox.

Big selling point I suppose.

But the picture taker will not want to be seen to be wrong so will probably not act any other explanation.

Be interesting to see what kit and original pics.

Fox tails vary significantly based on there diet/health. Most urban foxes have tails like that.

If you look at the photo closely it is without a doubt a fox. Dark legs, red/brown body and a white chin. It's crazy that it made the papers when it is so clearly a fox.

Not disputing that it's a fox, but after a quick read about all the 'big' cat sightings, what's to say there's not a few large Bengals or Maine Coon's living the life up our national parks?

These people, unfamiliar with the more exotic dometic breeds, spot a leopard like animal, get all excited and tell their mates it was 5ft long...

People make mistakes with ordinary cats and animals, and other things....

Growl growl

Or

Purr purr

Not saying all sightings are mistaken.

Does no one else think that looks just like a Wallaby or Kangaroo?

Sure thats not a fox. Tail looks to be way to long for a fox and the head shape is a lot flatter compared to Mr Fox.

Bit OT, but someone one of my colleagues (BIB) was dealing with the other day at an RTC was quite alarmed at "those white things" walking into the road nearby (common land)....they were sheep. He couldn't get over "how big they are", and took some convincing that they were in fact that. Mad what some of us take for granted!

A good friend of mine had a black panther (he believes) walk out from bushes just ahead of him some years ago, beside a golf course in Bedfordshire. It looked at him and slinked back the way it came.

"I did some research after..."

"It was absolutely massive and was hoping up and down like a large cat." - Tigger?

"...was leaping in the air with its front two legs first." - All other 4 legged animals jump backwards?
