21st Century TVR.. Powered by Ford V8.. Engine courtesy of Cosworth.. RWD.. 6 speed gearbox.. Brakes by Brembo.. Suspension by Ohlin.. Track focussed chassis design.. Traction Control.. ABS.. Weight 1000kg.. Power and Torque well North of 400.. Looks to die for, soundtrack beyond belief...

Such a simple recipe.. smile

Well it's nice to dream....

Chilli..
Nice spec.

Retro or poster looks? Maybe two body shells to suit?

Absolutely, can't deny the recent work carried out on S6's is superb and one that the factory should've done in the first instance, but unfortunately they didn't. If they had, I may have kept mine. hippy
I say try getting one now and have a rebuild (I'm about to get the 4.3) and watch the prices rocket when the new ones are released... Reason being fibreglass body doesn't rust so every wash and it looks like showroom!modern aftermarket navi, system with ipod/phone support and bingo it's in the moment.

I always said the cars they were building were timeless shapes and even with what's being released by the other brands TVRs still look like something that will be fresh in 10/20yrs

Outrageous Retro... two seater full convertible and 2+2 Coupe for the family man smile Nice (read big)arches and deep dished wheels... Option for side or rear exhausts.. Nothing girly... No compromise... (other than the 2+2).. Track ready stunning looking monster that's road friendly and would leave all it's contemporary's in its dust.... Job done biggrin

Sorry, I have a vivid imagination wink

That's exactly my thoughts, too!

They really do still look fresh, and due to the simple lines and curves, they always will.

But what do we do if the prices skyrocket - buy a spare for hooning and keep one locked up? hehe

I'm in. Not sure it needs track readiness as it seems like the ultimate car to go from wine bar to titty bar. biggrin

Deep dish wheels are an absolute must!!!

that looks like a ls3 with forged pistons, and plus a little VVT trickery...

Direct injection is a big change too.

Comparing to the similar Ford offering, isn't it just spooky how close the GM and Ford V8 engines are in terms of power output !!

I think this gives an idea of the competition.

Audi R8's from £40k+
Mclaren MP4 £120k+
California £90k+
Gallardo £60k+
Bentley GT's £30k+
Aston DB9 £40k+
Aston Vantage £30k+

Plus a host of others that never really existed in the Tuscan days, it is a very hard business now. I saw this with the Reliant SS1 (Don't laugh) but Mazda came along with the MX5(and lotus and the Elise) and showed us what the midget/MGBgt/Elan/mgf/etc should have been.

The TVR isn't the only one either, look at the Marcos, Farbio, Juno, etc.

My view is that TVR had a good thing, some of the big guys worked it out and have done it better given they have more resources.

I have a Tuscan and a GT, and to be honest if I was buying a car in the Sagaris price band I am not sure what I would choose and I love them all, Chim, Griff, Tuscan, T350, Tam, Sag included. I have even thought about a classic more recently.

On reliability the E46 M3, one of my all time favourites had to be recalled for gudgeon pins and bearings. The R8 isn't without a few problems, and there are a number of other high profile problems out there. Who can remember the coil packs on Audi TT's etc.

Well, I guess if you're desperate to put a decidedly unsporting body in a sports car, there's always the Range Rover 'Sport'. tongue outwinkbiggrin

I always had to laugh at the Vauxhall Frontera Sport.......shed on wheels, 0-60 in 17 seconds. Begs the question, "What was the sport?" Snooker?

to drag it slightyl back on topic

stabilty control and ABS

as I understand it ABS is a legal requirement ( although TVR kind of ignored this last time round)

so taken ABS has to be on the car wouldn't you have the stability control too as its no more hardware jsut make it switchable same as Toyota GT86

Who are we expecting to manufacture this 'new' TVR ?
Or is this a fantasy TVR thread ?

Parts made overseas. Assembled closest place to Surrey which has grants available. Usual modern formula. biggrin

Nope, it's only mandatory if you're a member of the association of European car manufacturers, which has an agreement with the EU...

I don't think something low and wide, front-mid engined with a near-perfect weight distribution has any inherent stability issues either, nearly all the TVR 'offs' seem to be ones where grunt overcomes grip in a rather sudden fashion, so there might be a case for a Racelogic-style adjustable traction control to be made - depending on how overpowered the cars end up being... wink
