Surprisingly I've been emailed a video report on my car from Pentagon Vaux.
It's a new service they are providing.

It failed the MOT on the drop link and apparently they cant source a replacement! Will give Monkfish a call on Monday.

Ouch! That's an expensive MOT. Drop links, discs and pads. I dread that type of bill

High? I hope they have some lube if the OP, or anyone else for that matter, ever accepted that 'Offer'.

Yeah, you can get carried away with having extras done to the car with the service. hehe

£2800 for the front brakes from Vauxhall is about right for the official parts. I don't think they sell many sets though. eek

I bought a pair of these front drop links about 18m ago - still in the cellar as my knock turned out to be a top-mount.

Not OEM, but I thought they were worth a punt at this price (given that the OEM items aren't exactly known for their robustness).

Having owned a factory tuned Monaro and seeing the true cost of parts it's eye watering however VX just take the piss! Monkfish or Walky for every last item if yr sensible. The other issue is do you really want some young low paid time incentivised mechanic used to driving Insignia diesels about getting in your 450hp car..... human nature would rule irrespective of what VX spouts to you.

That IS takin the piss. I own a small garage-cater for the unusual-have an 09 vxr8. done some mods,ok. just bought new discs from the fish.£490.oo the pair. Pads about £180.00. A competent independent will charge approx. £100.00 labour-that's assuming the pad retaining pins are free-if not add another £100.0. still way lower than Dick Turpin.com......The main dealers are on bonus etc-the lads would flog their gran..ranting

Robbing b'''''ds!!!!!

They tried to charge me £300 or so for new spark plugs on my 50k service, on top of £300 odd for the service it self.

Needless to say, i took it else where, all in for £300 odd total. WP.

VXR8 by the way.
