Been trying to get a Boardman CX Comp in the 57.5 frame for weeks - not a single one available in the country. Apparently more stock arriving this weekend.

That was handy. My Halfords bike scheme voucher just arrived , so the team carbon (now 800 as not joining Britush Cycling) actually costs me less than 500. With the 'spare' 200 Im getting a hybrid as allowed by my scheme..

I just bought vouchers to the value of £364 for my £499 Boardman. Well chuffed. A whopping £135 off for a few clicks.

I did a search for hybrid discount halfords code, first one worked £50 off £499, reserved online.

Then, joined British Cycling for £20 which gets you 10% off at Halfords, will use this when i pay for the bike at the store. Price now £405.

Then bought £405 of vouchers from http://select.halfordsbusinessservices.co.uk/ which cost me £364. Next day delivery.

I'm well chuffed

Joining British Cycling though would cost you £28.80. You'd save around £50 on the Boardman and then a further £20 on the Hybrid.

Damn internet people costing me money again...

I didn't really need a new bike but since I'd be wanting to move from hybrid to road bike eventually anyway I've just reserved a Team Carbon to pick up after dinner :/

At that price I can't really see why it's not worth a go given the reviews and stuff!

Thanks biggrin

Just back.

Went along as planned and just said about the extra 10% and they were fine with it.

Total was £364 in the end. Not too shabby..

Could have got another 10% if you bought it with Halfords vouchers. How do they make any money?

How do you get the discount though? I registered on the link you gave above, but when I add vouchers to my basket, it's charging me full price for them.

You lot owe me 700 quid biggrin People on the internet are a bad influence!

Not tried to set anything up yet, gears need adjusted, and need a set of pedals etc, but it seems so much stiffer and quicker than my hybrid comp. From a quick ride round the block at least, I'm very pleased smile

Is that the Team Carbon? What shifters does that have? Seems the £1k one now has tiagra, not 105. Hard to tell from your photo which shifters it has.

Lovely, either way!

it is now running tiagra unfortunately. not sure quite how much it matters, still shifts nicely. just a shame the cables come out the side of the shifter

Yeah it's Tiagra shifters and front mech. The cable thing isn't too good looking but they seem to work nice enough and for the price I certainly don't think I can complain!

Figured that as it's a first road bike for me that instead of spending a lot more now this was a good compromise. Eventually once the stuff starts wearing out and one of the newer 11spd group sets get to the end of the year and you're seeing discounts I may upgrade... but that's a long time away.
