Waterloo - London Bridge: Tube v Overground
Discussion
Does anyone's commute involve getting from Waterloo to London Bridge? The choice appears to be between walking to Waterloo East and then an overground train to London Bridge or the Jubilee Line from Waterloo to London Bridge.
It appears that the overground trains won't be stopping at London Bridge from January '15 until August '16 so I'll have no choice from then onwards, just wondered what would be quicker in the short term? Journey would be at 'normal' commuting times, so in the office at 9 leaving at 5. Any advice welcome!

I do this every (working) day, twice a day. Overground every time: my ticket's to "London Terminals" so the extra leg doesn't cost any additional amount whereas the tube does (I don't have a travel card as part of the ticket). I'll be moving office to Canary Wharf before January so won't be affected by the change too much.
I'm sure I read somewhere that London Bridge Platform 6 ( which is where you pick up the Charing Cross/Waterloo East service) is Europe's busiest platform. There's a train along every couple of minutes in the rush hours so I suspect that it may even be quicker than the tube as well as cheaper (I've never been bored enough to work it out)

As an alternative how about walking? Depending on where you need to be at London Bridge and bearing in mind that you won't get a train straight away it 'may' work out quicker once you've taken into account the walking to and from the stations at each end.

Hopefully this map will show you the relative distances, as the crow flies it appears to be about 1500mtrs so a mile, the average person walks at 3 miles per hour so 20 minutes and none of the hassle.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll give both a try, problem is I may need to sort my season ticket loan on my first day so might need to make a quick decision.
Quite right that it might only be a few minutes difference, could mean missing my train home though.
Not sure about walking, just a bit too far away.
