Arrived home safely after a truly magnificent weekend .
Our most sincere thanks to Ed for organising this most successful event.
It was very nice to meet old friends, and especially new faces, that we knew only from this forum.
May I mention Robert and Mollie,so pleased ,at last ,to meet you.
A special thanks to those we sat with at dinner, there was Jeff, V8V Pete and Sunseeker Gus ,for making an enjoyable evening.
Thanks to Martyn,J12MOC,for explaining the intricacies of the BR tweeky bits.
Thanks to Jeff for showing me how to have an erection, the erection of my sat nav,I hadn't had it up before.
David Goldie for chatting about his smashing car.
Paddy for ,well just being Paddy.
If I've forgotten anyone,my apologies.
The sun shone, the spitfires flew over, and the auction and raffle raised many a titter,as well as lots of dosh for the charities.
Who will forget Tony, with his bellows of "Oi you " at the unfortunates who forgot to pick a new raffle ticket, he is definitely a star.
Met Mrs Nick, how he pulled her I just don't know !
Then, just before we left,to my huge delight,VantageBabe and Mr Babe,a fitting end to a fab day out.
Bye for now. thumbup

No problem Tony, having met you before,I thought it best to keep things simple,no long words, that sort of thing.
BTW you were supposed to hang it around your neck, but your novel idea worked very well,if not a tad unusual, certainly alarmed the lady to your left.

Steven, Tony, I didn't get the pleasure of meeting either of you today but think I worked out who you were from afar during the raffle.

Steven I love your witty prose on this forum - were you a poet in a former life?

Tony didn't need to shout"Oi" at me as I was quick to get my hand back in the bucket after collecting my raffle prize, and I even survived the whole day without being called a Tcensoredr. I think that's a result.

Colin.

Likewise Colin, but judging by you Forum nickname ,I think I spotted you, gently swaying.
You are so kind, not sure pleasure,is the correct adjective though.
As for having a former life, well if I had one, maybe, with luck,it was as a fully formed normal person with social skills and six more inches ( in height, that is ).

Thanks Gus,didn't we have a grand time. Bernadette and me thoroughly enjoyed meeting you.
Yes ,we did well at the raffle. I think that's the first time I've ever won a prize at anything ( no surprise there, then. )
Your idea of slipping Tony a tenner before the draw appeared to have paid off. biglaugh

For those of you that have not met Gus ( Sunseeker )he really is a great, fun guy from Ireland ,near Cork.
He has recently purchased a DB7 that he is restoring.
At the moment it is in Scotland,in bits, awaiting a respray.
We wish him well with the restoration and look forward to seeing both him and the car. smile
