Is it worth the expense of fitting aftermarket 'headers' to the S62.
I wouldn't mind a few extra horses but worry it would alter the character of the car too much (for the worst)?

Any feedback appreciated.

The biggest restriction on the M5 is the manifolds, BMW decided to cheap out and use the same manifolds as the 540i.

If I was going to replace mine, my money would go to Russ Fellows. He's currently making an exhaust for my M5.

Three options available

Van maden (probably spelt wrong)
Evolve
Supersprint

I'd recommend one of the first two. Cost is about £2k but can net about 40bhp

Phil Crouch at CPC was closely involved with the design of some exhaust manifolds a while ago when I had my M5, he may well be worth talking to. I think the Van Manen ones mentioned earlier were the result of this.
