Hi Guys, have a virtually standard car and Im wondering if its running lean.

My tail pipes are black with soot, granted ive never cleaned them. Someone said today that when I reversed past them it smelt of fumes.

Its always smelt, breather pipe still visible.

Other than that no issues.

Would a remap help with running lean or reset adaptive maps help?

Cheers

tail pipes should be black, its safe to run rich and so long as the fuel consumption doesn't seem horrendous then leave it, if they start to go white you are running lean which is dangerous.

Cheers guys. I might give the pipes a clean and then see if it carries on. Not sure they have been cleaned in 10 years ;-)
