I've just seen on Twitter the Chris Harris' 60 plate Range Rover has rust bubbling up on the tailgate.

Very poor for a 2010/11 luxury car. Anybody on here with similar problem?

Not a range rover but my 4 month old defender already has bubbling around the windscreen. Not great for a new car in 2014!

I know some of the early TDV8 cars have been suffering with a little rust, but not '10/'11 cars.

I'm sure earlier cars are also affected, but I seem to remember a spate of '07MY-08 cars being affected - http://www.pistonheads.com/Gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I think rusting tailgate is a known problem. Had it on our '05 Supercharged. LR didn't want to know of course.

I've got the same issue with my 2010 SC. The basic design of the upper tailgate hasn't evolved since the classic in fact I changed it on my classic. Not such an easy job on the more modern car.

Mine had bubbling under the black trims down the sides of the rear glass. A known fault. LR sorted it under warranty.

Yup, my 60-plate has the bubbling under the black side trim on the tailgate, off to Land Rover soon so glad it is treated as a warranty issue.

I had my rear upper tail gate on my MY08 TVD8 replaced under the 6 year anti-corrosion warranty.

Very well documented issue, but disappointed to see it hasn't been resolved in later cars.
