Just moved into a new house and as we now need to cut back our expenses it looks like I'll be cleaning the windows myself! Was planning on just attacking them with a bucket of soapy water and a cheap squeegee but are there any 'secrets' to getting a good finish etc. Also are those Karcher window vacs any good?

Thanks

Cleaning windows requires, skill, dedication, clean water, good quality chamois, and a wife on the other side of the window to point out smears etc.

Most pros fall down by not having all of the above.

My window cleaner uses pure water and makes a fairly swift and very acceptable job.

He uses kit like this but has a built in tank of pre-treated water in the van so doesn't need a water supply on site - http://www.windowcleancentre.co.uk/productdetails....
