PH Classifieds for computers
Discussion
Just wondered why the PH classifieds for computers etc is not really used much? I know other forums have really active boards for this sort of thing, but looking at the number of listings it appears that people aren't really aware of it which is a shame as I find the vast majority of PH's are great people and would feel comfortable selling/buying from as opposed to the nightmare that is ebay...
I have had a new Macbook Air on for a while now and have not even had as much as a nibble.

I used to be a regular browser of all the classifieds, but the new style/layout is really poor, just find it too much of a faff for casual browsing, agreed though the computer section has never been popular.
Agree about the US import, it's too expensive, you can get a UK spec one from the education store for not much more, plus you get a £60 voucher. I'd suggest under £600 MIGHT get some response.

Perhaps your problem is more to do with no-one wanting to buy a grey import, US spec Mac Air for £685 with no guarantee of any UK warranty cover.
As fas as a warranty is concerned there is no question that its covered as Apple give you a worldwide cover - I have been buying (and selling) Apple stuff from the US for quite a few years (normally after using it for a year then selling it) and have claimed in the UK and never had a problem. I wasn't really wishing to get into a debate on price (I have sold lots of stuff inc. MBA through ebay etc and generally have a good idea of prices although ebay is getting almost unusable), more a question as to why very few people seem to use the PH classifieds (or know it even exists).
