Thanks
Started off life as a 1.6 and morphed into what is an Mi16 and producing 208 Bhp. .With all the weight saving it " makes progress " and handles like a go cart and is amazing through the bends. Just need to get the MOT done then off into the countryside to find some great driving roads.

This is a proper car.
Exactly the same direction I went with my mk2 golf gti. Stripped out with the 2.0 ABF 16v from a mk3. Until a drunk driver in a stolen car wrote it off.

Do you do the all the work yourself? It's half the fun smile

have a real soft spot for several things.

1) 205 GTis
2) Mi16/s16 converted 205 GTis
3) Old cars with white paint and blue accents. (mate had a white Mk1 Escort with Blue roll cage cloud9 )

So as you see this project is ticking some boxes!!

The car has been completely done by myself and my two mates, Martin and Johnie, who without them this would never have been completed. Both are brilliant on pugs and to be honest I did all the manual stuff , especially brewing up , Johnie did the fibreglass dash and painting and Martin did the engine work.
Between the three of us we have made a proper pocket rocket.
Having to replace the head gasket as it went last Friday so that will be getting upgraded as will head bolts and whilst at it upgrade the con-rods.After that think I'll have to upgrade brakes then next year throttle bodies.
That should be the end but as we all know .......
Martin has almost finished his twin v6 205 and Johnies turbo 205 should be finished in the next week or two.We hope to get all three out by the end of August.
We also have a spare 1.9 which we can hoon about in and it's hilarious .Reminds me why I love these cars.
