Some electrical advice please - starter circuit

I am in the process of by passing the immobiliser and fitting a relay to the starter circuit. Thanks to Dave (chimpongas) I have sorted the bypassing bit but need some advice on the relay bit. I have a 30 amp fused Bosch relay and intend

Live to 30
Ign switch to 86
To starter/solenoid from 87
Earth to 85

Does this sound right?

A couple of additional questions

Can I take the live from the ignition switch feed?
What size cable do I need for the live?
What size cable to the starter/solenoid?
