Saab Diesel Tuning

Hi guys,
Totally new to Saab, and to tuning. Bear with me! Just bought a 9-3 Vector 1.9TiD. Firstly, I love the externals. It looks fantastic, and great condition for it's age (2005). Internally though, very disappointing! Cheap black plastic so I'll be looking to upgrade that if possible.
I'll get to the point. What can I do to a diesel Saab to increase power etc. I'm on a budget, so the cheapest but most efficient ways would be much appreciated.
Something else I wonder is: can you put an air intake into a diesel? I can't seem to find performance diesel air intakes so I don't know if there are dedicated petrol/diesel intakes.
