Hi, does anyone have any recommendations on this front? I need a large roof box for a couple of weeks in late August and was hoping to hire one as it's likely to be a one off requirement, but it looks like I'm going to have to buy one. It's to fit a 2008 ML and from what I understand (which isn't much!), the boxes are universal but I need to get rails specific to the car and I am best going for Thule equipment, as this will apparently minimise my chances of headache inducing wind noise, or finding the contents of the box strewn across three lanes of motorway!

I have no time or patience to fit it, so I just want to turn up somewhere and give them some money, then drive away with the box on my roof. Does this mean I have to go to Halfords?

mutters under his breath - how hard can it bewink

I'd help you if I was asked? I'd rather that then leave you to the mercy of a spotty oik in Halfrauds

What you really need is a nice little box trailer and a tow bar on the A8.... biggrin

Stewy wink

Seriously I have used this company befor and found them very helpful and knowledgable. Down at Longwater.

They are called Norfolk Canoes but hold a decent stock of roof bars and various accessories such as roof boxes.
