Hi,

I’m hoping somebody in this forum can help. I’m researching the history of my purple Diablo SE30. It was imported into New Zealand around 2000 then exported to the UK at the end of 2002.

While in New Zealand it had the licence plates NO FATE and M8ADOR.

Can anybody remember ever seeing this Diablo? Probably in the Auckland area.

I would be grateful of any information at all. Please PM me if you prefer.

Thanks,

TSS

I did a carjam.co.nz report on the car. From 20/4/2001 it was on NO FATE, then from 27/9/2001 it was on M8ADOR. So NO FATE could well have been on a number of cars since then. More likely somebody may have seen it on M8ADOR as it was on that plate for longer.

Wonder if it was this guy?

Had a bunch of Lamborghinis in the early 2000s, with various P-Plates.... he was a big early "investor" in personalised plates.

He's 'selling' a whole load of plates on trademe and he offered me one that I wanted to buy. When I said OK he coincidently sold that same plate that same day to someone else!? Also named Mark wanting either my name or initials at the same time I was looking.

No, it was never owned by that guy.

It just had 1 owner in NZ who I’ve been in contact with and he has given me what information he has. It would not be right to post his name on a public forum.

I’m really after any other information or sightings of it. I am sure somebody somewhere will have taken photos of it in NZ.

Thanks,

TSS

Bump…

I long shot, but I thought I’d bump this thread to see if anybody in NZ who’s joined PistonHeads in the last 5 years remembers my car when it was over there. I’m still researching its history and would love to see any old photos.

Thanks,

TSS

Stupid question, have you tried wherever you get the car serviced? I'd imagine they'd be able to check the vin against their records for parts / services it had during that time? Long shot but worth asking next time you're at the dealer, doubt they'd tell you over the phone.

Hi Captain Obvious,

It’s a good idea but I’ve tried that route. It’s been serviced by independents since coming to the UK from New Zealand. I did speak to my local main dealer but they didn’t think there was much chance of getting 1990’s records. I don’t think Lamborghini had any sort of central service record database back in the day (if anybody knows differently please let me know).

I contacted Lamborghini Auckland. They were very helpful and able to send me some screen shots of their records of it having a pre-purchase inspection before it was sold to the UK in 2002. They didn’t have the actual hardcopy records anymore and unfortunately due to a change in their service database system they could no longer access any records from before that.

I do know that it had a very good respray done in New Zealand (probably around 2001) but I don’t know where. Somewhere in or around Auckland I expect. So there is probably a spray shop somewhere with records of it. But finding that is a bit of a needle in a haystack task!

I’m just interested in anything I can find, any photos, maintenance records or just a memory of anybody seeing it.

Just saw this. I know this isn't the car, but I was in Auckland NZ on holiday in 1999, and saw this purple Diablo VT Roadster in Ponsonby:-

Excuse the 640x480 low res, this was my first digital camera!

Cheers

Steve
