Spoke too soon about the throttle settings frown
After driving to Lincoln there was a really bad flat spot around 2,000rpm. Out with the laptop again and no. 1 throttle pot is kaput. 2 new ones arrived today so fitted them and set it all up. Went for a drive and all good, just idle speed to tweak.
Was doing this at the side of the house under the carport. Got that strange feeling someone is watching you. Turned round and right behind me was a bloke who drinks in the pub opposite. He started shouting saying the noise from the car was disturbing his quiet drink. After telling him to go back inside and close the door after himself he decided to make his point more forcefully and started pushing me back. Then he lifted his right arm to launch a punch but managed to push him away first.
Landlady who was outside smoking came over and told him to go back inside. Not too concerned about him or his aggressive stance. No, what really upset me was when he said, 'You need to take that to a proper tuner, you don't f#####g know what you're doing.' cry

Haha...Brilliant!
Seriously though, well done on sorting out the problem.
I mean the car not the bloke!

Pisspots make the world go around Iain! Should have told him it's only been firing on one bank for years and you're determined to get to the bottom of the problem - but only when he's around.

As for me, alarm fob was dead but fortunately new batteries did the job rather than anything internal being the problem. Celebrated with a hoon.

Preparing the chassis for a coat of paint, will heatshield it afterwards. As an aside, does anybody know whether changing the bulkhead and wing heatshielding here is doable with the body still in place? And where best to find suitable materials?

Dropped the beastie off at Mr Batty's to replace the oil/water gauge now that [-]not very[\-] Speedy Cables finally delivered, and it's having an MOT ready for a move up to the Midlands with my new job...

Went to open the Cerb and the alarm went off(ear splitting noise!)and discovered the battery was flat. So, being a new owner vaguely remembered that to get in you have to know "the secret".
Fortunately I knew "the secret" and eventually got in.
Tried to start the car and got dreaded "click click click".
Put the battery on charge and covered her up again. frown

ps thanks N7GTX

replaced the braided pipe between the master and slave cylinders as the original was touching the exhaust (broken cable tie) melted in the London traffic and left me stranded at the Ace Café on Wednesday TVR night, Got home 2.00am on the back of a low loader.
First time I've been stranded in 5 years of ownership. Back on the road now hopefully at Castle combe on Monday.

Managed to find a bit of time and took the Cerb out for a good old blast round the lanes....The car was awesome! She definitely drives better in the cooler weather. Even with some spirited driving, the engine temp never got above 75 degrees.
I will change the coil packs and leads in the winter, but at the moment she's flying!

Washed her today - too many dead flies - and re-installed the dash camera.

At last, finally managed to fit my white indicators (with help from my 13 yr old daughter's smaller arm for the N/S). I say finally as I was originally supplied odd ones, then bought some sealant and found they gave me white instead of black. Anyway, I'm pleased with the result:-

Removed my old exhaust manifolds yesterday.
I must have a "really easy" Cerb
I managed to slide them out with unbolting the engine.
hopefully the new ones will go in just as easy smile

Not today but this past week sorted the following:
- replaced leaking driveshaft seal on diff
- reconnected reverse lamp switch on gearbox which was hanging loose so didn't have a working reverse light (awkward is an understatement)
- replaced HID starter units, one headlight wasn't working and on inspection starter unit was full of water
- increased indicator beeper volume
- replaced handbrake cable, cleaned inside rear discs/drums and refitted handbrake shoes
- fitted braided hoses to rear brakes
- adjusted suspension front and back Gaz Gold Pro's all round and wasn't handling great not settling properly, much improved now.
- used number plate adhesive tape to make indicator repeaters fit better so they aren't loose rattling in their holes.

Suspension improved now? But still not 100%?

I can play this one now... wink

Two bucket wash, two coats of Vic's Concours, a good work over the interior with Dr Leather and all the glass done. Looks bloody amazing and a credit to former owners.

As she's not a garage queen, a bit of a drive to get to know her better: I think we're going to get along just fine (even if I am kicking myself for not having done this years ago). smile
