Just started subscribing to Photoshop cc and Lightroom 5.

When viewing my photos in Lightroom they look blurred and they are NOT. They are pin sharp using the Faststone application I used to use. Is there something that alters the general sharpness of all pics before editing, to how they should be.

PS - I dont mean in the editing stage in Develop but in Library mode. HELP.

You can apply a preset on import, have you checked the preview image settings? irrc you can adjust the quality of preview images, and finally if working with RAW files they will always look soft, the preview you get on the camera screen is a sharpened jpeg.

They are RAW images. Not sure how to adjust preview settings and quality.

Just tried exporting a RAW photo to a JPEG and its sharp. So to view my RAW files properly, I need to export them all to a JPEG file. Seems to me, RAW is a lot of hassle especially if not wanting to alter the original file. Surely, this cant be the case

The normal view in faststone is smaller than in LR so that's why it might look sharper?
