Hi all, looking for a bit of help.

I brought my 111R about 6 weeks ago and I'm completely blown away with the performance. This morning something a bit weird happened. I had been in car for 20 mins mostly sitting in traffic, the temp was showing mid 80's. Had a full service last week and oil level is bang on (just checked). I accelerated up a slip road and could only get just under 7k revs. The cam kicked in at 6ish as normal but up shift light came on and rev limiter kicked in.

I then pulled in and reset and all was fine. Any one know what could cause this to happen, hoping to find the issue before it fails completely.

Cheers

Alex

Did the MIL light come on, or just the "change up" light?

Thanks for the reply.
Just the up shift light is all I noticed.

I don't know the Toyota cars very well, but they may have two temperature sensors - one for the ECU and one for the dashboard display. If the ECU feed isn't working, the engine will drop its limiter to the lower "fail safe" setting.

Only a guess, though.
