Hi All
Started the chassis rebuild, spent half of Saturday re tapping powder coating out of the threads and wishbones. Got the front suspension on, trailing arms, shocks and fuel pumps in, today I will try get all the brakes and pipes on after a bacon butty and a cup of tea.
Found a neighbour throwing out a carpet and it's just the right size, saves working off a cold floor (at my age).
Should have the everything back by next weekend so I can finish a few things on the body before paint.
I spoke to Rodger at Kiley Clinton and he is making a new rack for me with 2.2 turns lock to lock, not told me the price yet but it should not be to bad, will sell my rack to recover some of the cost.

Hi All.
Home for another cuppa and butty, next job is to paint the calipers, never done calipers before so what is the best paint to use, I see there are lots to pick from but what is the one to go for.
One tip is to fit the front bearing before the seal (silly old me)it just won't go in.
Next job is all the exhaust back on and front and rear hubs, not got a socket for the hub nuts as some toe rag stole my drills and large socket set. off to the Snap-On man for a big discount on tuesday.

Alan - this car has to be a major Sprint feature in the making surely....... Looks like those chairs in the picture would have had many smoko and contemplation breaks too.
dunno if its just me, but does anyone else find that Red Bull pop up REALLY annoying!!! (hope the PH overlords are reading)

Any Hi-temp paint should do for calipers.
Hammerite works well on calipers but the red is a bit translucent, so you need more than one coat. Leave lots of time between coats though or it might wrinkle and peel.Hi All.
Day off tomorrow, will spray up a card with the paint I have for the car, hope I can match it up with a red VHT paint. I have to remove the anodising from the calipers first, so it's off to the super market for some oven cleaner.
Diff needs a good clean so that's a job for tomorrow as well.
