sagaris purchase
Discussion
What to look for when buying one.... Condition. Love. Owner.
Don't be put off by non-rebuilt engine'd cars. The 4.0 engine by the time the Sag arrived was pretty good.
Look for the 'old testament' of buying cars - service history, did the previous owner spend what they should on it? Apart from that, have a look at the FAQ in this section, it would cover anything else.

I've seen a few with badly maintained chassis, so don't be fooled by a shinny top, look underneath and at the engine bay.
Agreed. And the most expensive ones for sale are not the best condition ones - I know, I looked last year. If I were looking now I'd take a look at http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...
Interior isn't to my liking, but if in as good mechanical condition as I'd expect from Tony, then £4K on a retrim makes this a steal.
Andrew,
Do not need the best, price will be to high
There is one for sale here in Belgium,it will take some time to get a good price to buy it,
Oh headspace is fine, was in a Sag yesterday and hearing/feeling the 350bhp was awesome,
still not rush things, think it over and fingers crossed,
Will also consider all other comments and think again,

The pea green sagaris at Target? That has been for sale for about 3 years now. I think it started at £30k and has slowly been creeping up. These cars need to be driven... this one has pretty much stood still for 36 months. Engine will need a full overhaul.Do not need the best, price will be to high

The quality of the accident repair has been questioned on here.

I sold mine privately for just £4K less than that last year it had twice as many miles on the clock and just an engine warranty from Power. Looks to be good value from a dealer with full warranty, interiors not to my taste but you could live with it for a bit before spending some money on a retrim. If I were looking now I'd take a look at http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

As has been said don't worry about the perceived higher miles on these either as the engines were on the whole sorted out by then, Dom at Power wouldn't have put an engine warranty on an engine at 50,000 miles which hadn't had a rebuild unless he was happy it would OK.
Great car once you find the one that suits you.

Why a full re-trim, just get D&C trim to splash a bit of Portland or Nimbus grey here and there such as the seat and door inserts and it would look great - that's what I did and it now looks a bit like the Reflex Charcoal one for sale. Cost would be £500 rather than £4k and I would agree the car would then an absolute steal. Regardless of trim, there must be something else stopping this one from selling... anyone seen it? Maybe condition is poor?
They were at this price 12+ months ago.
I did wonder a few months ago whether its because it is black? Usually a great colour for a car, but on a Sag it just doesn't bring out any of the menacing features.

This car it has been involved a crash. In the words of the salesman "the previous owner ran out of talent and put it through a barbed wire fence into a field". I asked for pictures of the crash damage but unfortunately none were taken by the body shop who carried out the repair. They were at this price 12+ months ago.

Also, didnt these early Sags come with a different slightly less desirable interior/seat?
