The Last Of Us: Remastered
Discussion
So, what do we think then?
Only got an hour in so far but I have finished it many times on the PS3
I'm loving it. It looks fantastic, though I haven't figured out whether I prefer it locked to 30fps or not. The framerate does seem to slightly change the "feel" of the game. Either way, it's a from me.

Great game (haven't tried remastered yet, need to get my hands on a PS4).
Most of the friends I have that are pretty serious when it comes to gaming have agreed it's the best game they've played, by a country mile. I'm in that camp as well.
Obviously it's subjective and there are loads of great games about, but it just seems to be one that a lot of people agree is really bloody good.

Yep, re-released with an upgrade to 1080p, 60fps and all the dlc from the ps3 version.
Is it on the PSN thing? I can never find things on there! I tell a lie, the other day I found some free games which seemed good but they were for the PS3!!And how much is it? (I just got a copy of watchdogs)..
I'm an Xbox fanboy and had to borrow a friends PS3 to play The Last of Us.
The first 15 minutes is probably the most I have enjoyed playing a game for a long time. Then the game (IMHO) simple degenerates into a poor half-life clone. The Zombie aspect is just lost and the creatures seem more like aliens than zombies.
I really don't understand the high reviews and constant praise. The Walking Dead on the Xbox (Tell-Tale) is far superior though a different type of game.

I felt like it was slightly on rails at times, but would say it is my favourite, or one of my favourite all time games.
Only played it on the PS3, which is now sold.
Does it look a lot better on the PS4? I've been watching a few streams on twitch.tv and I can't say I notice it being much better.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say it was a disappointment. I just can't see what all the fuss is about, the game is linear, you can only upgrade your weapons halfway before you finish the game and it doesn't bring anything new to the genera. I got got bored near the end as well. It's not a bad game but it's not worth the hype I feel. I brought 'beyond' afterwards which creates a emotional atmosphere and displays innovation yet seems to be underrated.
Completed it on PS3 and loved every moment of it, it was like playing a film.
However, I won't be bothering with it on PS4...I already know the plot now and what is about to happen and when.
I fell that will take the edge off playing it through again.
Great game though, probably the most engrossing solo game i've ever played.

One of the reasons I really liked this game; I love the "do whatever it takes" aspects of a really tough survival games but when you can turn yourself into an unstoppable tank halfway through it loses it's appeal a bit (here's looking at you Far Cry 3). I'll admit the gameplay was linear at times (but not as bad as Tomb Raider or Dead Island) but never once did I get bored (unlike Bioshock Infinite and Dishonoured). The way it tells it's story is one of its best attributes; progressive but melancholic. Fair to say its one of my all time favourite in 20 years of playing games.parabolica said:

This pretty much nails it for me. I like how it is possible replay the game a second time and continue to upgrade, rather than it being too easy. It is only really towards the end of the second play through (or maybe the first half of the third if you aren't particularly fastidious with your spare part scavenging!) that you really become a force to be reckoned with.Playing through it this time and it still blows me away. I imagine it will the next time I play through it too
Just got an old PS3 a few months ago (her brother got a PS4 for and gave us his old PS3, we're xbox usually) and have really wanted to play this for a while having heard good things about it. So now we have the opportunity to play it we've been watching the price but it's always £40 everywhere and never in the sales until we found it for £22 on Amazon last week, it's due on Thursday so looking to spend the weekend on it. Can't wait.
Had this on the PS3 and got about 75% of the way through it, then got hooked on the multiplayer and never managed to finish the single player. I've picked it up again on the PS4 and remembered just how damn good this game. It really is one of the best games I've played in the last few years. OK some bits of it do feel a little on rails but the story, atmosphere and tension are nailed perfectly. If you haven't played it on the PS3 then it's a must buy.
One thing I will say though is the graphic upgrade is a bit disappointing. Sure it's a bit sharper and smoother but it's not light years ahead of the PS3 version. OK the PS3 version was very pretty to be fair but considering the PS4 is meant to be what 4 times more powerful, I've just not seen the big jump in graphics quality that I was expecting from the next gen consoles so far.
The mutiplayer is still fiendishly addictive though and the extra maps and DLC content included in this version adds a bit of extra value.
