Hi,

I'm looking for a M3 saloon from the dealers, how do people think prices will go on these?

Are they going to follow the trend of the e46 and level off at 12kish?

Thanks in advance!

Drop 50% every 3yrs till they're at £10-17k and then sell based on condition.

Not many saloons on the system - 7 last time I looked.

Seem to be a lot of specialists taking the mickey with prices at the moment because of the new M3 being a saloon. I think they will eventually be worth more than the coupe (like E36) but that will be at least another 10 years from now. At the moment I can't see why they would be worth any more than the equivalent coupe.

Yep not sure how much more practical the saloon is over the coupe... The car will have to house my wife and I and a 18 month baby... Car will only be used for weekend day trips....

I'm even thinking would a convertible be that bad seeing as it would be mainly fun trips out... How much does the cab. kill the m3 experience?

Thanks in advance!

Nearly 2 tonnes so it won't improve it compared to the e90/92.

Just picked up an E36 M3 Saloon today.
Tidy as hell and amazing history.

It's even got brand new interior fitted 3 years ago.

Well screw me sideways..... That's my old M3.!!

I owned it for about a year in 2002, loved it but had to scratch the M5 itch.

I assume you are aware it had a new engine early in its life?

It did have a few water stains on the rear seats, but nothing that warranted a new interior. Had a bit of warranty work done to it including dampers, condenser, and clutch hose.

I would really appreciate it if you could send me some picture of it please, one of the only cars I only have 1 picture of.

I wish you lots of happy miles in her, it was a great car.....

Ps limiter seemed a little reluctant to kick in, 165 indicated and still accelerating.... Door seals did start making a right racket above 150 wink

Ah happy days.
Good to hear off a previous owner.
These are the only two pics I have of it at the moment.
It's had a lot of money spent on it and yes I saw that it had had a new engine in it.
It's also had ARP rod bolts and shells so is bullet proof on the bottom end.
Vanos is perfect and the engine feels so so strong.
Just got some bodywork bits and bobs to sort out on it.

Ironically when I bought the the E39 M5, I had to get all 4 VANOS's replaced. The M3 was properly sound....

What colour is the interior now? Looks a bit darker in your photos, does it still have the wooden trim?

It ran really well on Michelins and absolutely crap on Falkens that I replaced toward the end of the ownership.

How's the paint work on it now?

Send us the pics when you have them, I need to add them to my car album.

I believe I still have the original first aid and glove/wet wipe tyre changing kit....

Full black leather and steering wheel retrimmed too.
Still has wooden door handles but the other trim bits have been changed.
Just sent the wheels to the wheel specialist in Fareham for a full refurb and colour change.

£4000 for cash.
Absolute bargain.
I would love an E90 M3 saloon. I think they are much nicer than the coupe.
Same with the brand new M3. Just love the 4 door variants much more than the coupes.

You defiantly got yourself a bargain there, I paid £17,800 in 2002.

I agree the E90s are more desirable than the coupe, I only bought a coupe as I couldn't find a manual saloon where I live.

OP good luck finding one, it is a better looking car, more practical, more of a sleeper and definitely worth the wait getting one you really want.

So far so good!

It's got 4 doors which with a young family is great. The car gets quite a bit of attention as well and I must admit the red really sets it apart from every black 320d on the road. I love the interior even though it's my 4th e9x series car. The seats are better as is the trim on the centre consoles etc.

As a car it's amazing in normal auto mode it can pootle round all day long. This may sound weird but when I test drove it I was more concerned to see how it pootled around as it's a daily drive and some days I just don't want it to be in full attack. So to me the car is relaxed when I want and then an animal with the flick of a switch or push of the pedal. It amazes me how quick it really is when you do give it the beans... I have even started a thread about it on here. But as I think more and more it's clearly a combination of a new type of power delivery, how hard the suspension is, power , dsc interfering, less than 3mm on the back and the road surface being uneven/bumpy as on some roads it accelerates perfectly!

My only gripe is that I need new tyres shortly and in a week I have been to the petrol pump three times frown

I love Melbourne red on the E90. Best colour combo IMO.
