Strange Bentley

I was just popping into Sainsburys in Marlow at the weekend when a strange looking Bentley drove past. A quick check said it was a Continental GTC in green with the 6.0 W12 but it doesn't look like any Continental I've ever seen, can anyone tell me what it is?

Sorry for the poor pic, it was going dark and it took me a minute to whip out my phone and zoom in!

That's the one, well done. I hate not knowing what a car is. I do quite like it, would have liked to have taken a longer look.

Zagato has a tendency to 'cartoonify' cars imho. I've seen it a lot with Aston.

I followed it round Silverstone at BDC meeting on Saturday - looked like an elephant had sat on it!

Thanks for that. Whilst I respect the work these custom coach builders undertake I'd still rather have a standard Supersport given the choice (if I wasn't allowed to sell it)!

In the case of the Zagato Conti GT I agree. What do you think of this ?

Hmmm I'm still not convinced, the front looks quite cool, a bit like their should be Bond style deploy-able machine guns, the back however has a little too much of the Bristol look for my tastes

I've never rated the designs Zagato come up with really. I absolutely love the pretty little Lancia Fulvia coupe, of the 60s-70s, for it's fine lines, but Zagato made it look ugly, and heavy nosed. The back end of this Bentley is made even worse by the addition of wheelarch spats, to my mind.

I am not a Zagato fan either and this one is certainly not an improvement on the original. Pininfarina is a different mattter and I like the Hanson T1 very much. Clearly that is where the Carmargue originated but sadly it was not so good - IMO this is the car the Carmargue should have been.
