Come on guys, I cant be the only person who wears silly grins, sings silly songs and does a silly dance when waiting for new fun car? Right? Er...right?

Ahem, well, er screw you guys then smile

Dog knob red nappa
Pano roof
Airscarf (natch)

Pano roof
Friend's got an SLK55 with the glass pano electro-frosting roof thing. I don't get it - it's a fantastic toy but... if you wanna see the sky, take the roof off!!?! And that way you get to enjoy the noise too! smile

Magic sky roof. No, not got that. The pano roof is just the constant colour glass.

Finally there at 17.20.
Left about 18.20 to drive it home 150 miles north. In Friday rush hr traffic. In foul foul rain.

Home about 21.30.

Loved every minute. Love this car already. God I love having torque back!

Best comedy feature ever? The green lit econ 8 icon. Yes folks...5.5ltr V8 in economy mode smile As you are using the torqur to waft past folks smile

Anyway avg 28mpg over the 150 miles. Not bad. Avg speed 46mph. So a mix of traffic. It will sit above 30 on the motorway.

Cool!

That's the only thing I would have specked as an option: ambient lighting. Sadly my car was instantly available from stock, so no choice.

Solar red ambient light, dark leather/plastic dash top, brushed ally trim & red nappa interior work very well smile

I thought amb light was now standard?

Mike was diamond. I was late, he wasnt bothered. Ive already warned em about my wife when she picks hers up in a cpl of months. Perfection is demanded or she will cause us all grief! And yes she stole the keys this morning...

Haha, sorry about the weather, I should have warned you that every time I'm off work, it rains!

Glad Mike looked after you! I'll make sure everything is perfect for your good lady! I'm glad she's pinched the keys already, it's a great little package!

I got to drive my wifes R172 55 yesterday evening on a 10 mile jolly, a nice drive, felt so much better than her previous R171 200 (I know, chalk and cheese), the car felt planted, blatant more power, but I really was so disappointed with the paddle shift, it was so so slow compared with my own 5 speed W211 55, and that's not double clutch technology, I would be interested in your own experience with the paddle shifting, perhaps I need to give it some more time, but I was disappointed, have you trialled this out yet?.

FYI, R172=current SLK model R171=previous SLK model W211=E class (02-09),

as per original Q; did you have any thoughts on the paddle shifting??
