Hi everyone at PH
Jez here, great to join in with like minded on this great motoring site.

I am proud owner (for approx 30 yrs) of VRO 414 W. Colt Lancer 2000 Turbo (Black)
see profile for picture taken last year when I started restoration.

To be honest this is cry for help! I have had a lot done on the car so far but even
with help from Mitsubishi/ guys on the MLR register and my restorers. I am starting to
hit a brick wall with a few parts.

Like: Front coil Springs/All brake parts/discs/pads/hoses/Rear Shocks/Fuel Pump
All these rather critical for a car on the road!

Any comments good/bad/and advice would be very welcome. I will also post this to the
Japanese car section.

Thanks for your time, look forward to hear any news useful to this project.
Regards Jez

Hi jez

Check my profile for my lancer turbo. Flexi lines are available from most motor factors, or check mr.auto.co.uk and have a look there under brake equipment for your model of lancer.

Front coils springs need to be remade. Gaz shocks in Basildon will , after you send them one of yours, get the specs and make so e new ones . Myself and dangerous on the MLR also got brand new inserts made by gaz for £60 the pair.

Rear shocks are also available online and from mr auto, failing that drop me a pm and I might be able to source them for you.
Calipers can be rebuilt, I stripped and repaired the rears, the fronts I stripped and got the replacement pistons and rubbers from big red on ebay.
For rear flexi hoses they're no longer available , so I had braided made for mine, the rest have been replaced with rubber flexis and new copper / steel.
I have a spare fuel pump somewhere, otherwise an aftermarket one should be ok, back in the day we used Audi ones and adapted them to fit, Dave Green used to make custom brackets.

Early EVO stuff is non interchangeable, a lot of starion stuff is though, for example water pumps are about £40, clutch slave cylinders etc about £65 and can be interchanged.
Front discs are expensive but available , just make sure that the measurements add up, remember they're vented and not solid.

You might want to replace all the bushes ( all rears £75) while they are still available from Kevin at Brighton Mitsubishi , and get a spare screen while you can, they're £120 inc vat.

Mine is chassis number 0032 and one of the early NTR 6 variants making it one of the first 50 or so that came off the production line.

Drop me an email if you like, I'm on the MLR and myself and "dangerous" have been helping each other out with our resto projects. I've also got another LT we are using for spares but most of the parts have gone now.

Hi tex
Thank you very much for your post/reply I have been in touch with Gaz Shocks already just need to get my struts,
rear shocks and front springs to them ....see what they can do.

Did you mean Mr Auto as in ...mister-auto.co.uk? have found their site and will need to pass on part numbers before
they happy to send parts.

I have had all my calipers reconditioned and think I have a lead on some rear pads, Front ones still difficult/impossible.
My restorers are not happy skimming the discs as they are quiet rusty so I am def on the look out for new ones.
Kevin in Brighton Mitsubishi has been fantastic. Owe him a few beers!!

Your car looks amazing, mine is bit tatty on the outside but have had all corners, floors sills etc repaired underneath to get
it MOT'd asap. Just want to drive it again.
Can't find you in the MLR register do you have a different address there? Mine is the same jez414 as here.
My Chassis No A176A00400201 (NTR6) and Model 013B09 Not sure if they are O's or zero's Strange mine is a W reg
and yours a Y if yours is older?? I do know most of the History of mine from when it was Managers Car/demonstrator at
Cople Mitsubishi near Bedford.

Be great to meet up one day when its finally running....? and help with sourcing any other spares together for a better
deal maybe. Have talked to dangerous before on the MLR site.

Will catch up soon, and thanks again for the help and pointers.
Regards
Jez

Any other leads and parts no's good places to go always welcome.

Here's your rear shocks:

Front Flexi hoses

http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/brake-hose/mitsubi...

(note, just swap for braided if they are no longer available, much easier. Also there are 2 flexis per side on the front, one at the rear going from main central brake line to balancer, plus another two from the ends of the axle to the calipers which are no longer available)

Pads

Ball joint for good measure

http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/ball-joint/mitsubi...

Should keep you going, steering joints are worth buying as after 30 years they tend to get a bit slack!.

Mines actually an X reg but tbh the Reg's of LT's are all over the place, as they were all imported at the same time but sold / held onto by Colt UK and only supplied on demand, rather than the dealers actually holding any stock per se, so if you ordered one they'd simply pull the first one out of the Warehouse at Gloucester stick some plates on it and send it out. Stuff like the Rally pack option (which mine has, orange stripes, two tone horn, mudflaps plus some other bits) were often fitted by the dealer or if not, by the Colt Car company themselves.
That's why a lot of people go by the Chassis numbers rather than reg's.
