Right then, I'm a very exited chap, perhaps more so than someone of my age should be, but hey after quite a search and several not so nice ones viewed the Tuscans bought.
So, as I say what now, can anyone recommend any insurance companies, I've had a quote from Mannings which seems very reasonable ?

Also what is the essential garage equipment needed , trickle charger I guess, any particular make, anything else ?

By the way how the hell do you all put up with the sharp intakes of breath and people saying " why are you getting one of those, they break down all the time"... I'm already fed up with argueing the case.

Any finally, any recommendations for servicing around the Gatwick area ?

I usually respond by asking them "really, what went wrong on yours?" and you'll find it's just third-hand, 'mate of a mates brother watched Top Gear' type hearsay.

For insurance, give Matt at Henderson Taylor a try, oh and when you get it, drive it and enjoy it thumbup

Congratulations !! Amazing cars.

Get a trickle charger and Anderson jump leads.

And re insurance Mannings are great. Unlimited track days are a huge bonus.

Well done bug, welcome to the club. Mannings good for insurance. You may find cheaper but the cover they provide is good and includes track day and European.

Trickle charger a must. Think mine is accumate.

Anderson jump leads another recommendation. Battery is in the wheel arch so easier to jump with Anderson leads rather than take off passenger front wheel etc.

Servicing, Dan Taylor a TVR in Maidstone. Wouldn't take mine anywhere else. Top bloke who knows TVRs inside and out.

Enjoy the car, they look, sound, drive amazing and will always make you warm and gooey feeling inside if not in your pants!

Thanks for all your advise so far on this guys.

Insurance sorted, I actually went with Hendersons, it does have track day coverage but not wishing to sound like a girls blouse I'm not planning on tracking it unless it is just the once to get to know the car in a safe environment (bloody hell how boring do I sound)... I'll be buying driving gloves next and getting the tin of barley sugars for the glovebox (now I am showing my age).

Anyway I got the car from "Touch of Classics" in Lowestoft, mice guys and they arranged for the owner to come down and meet me, he's had it 7 years, it's looks amazing in Nuvola Blue/magnolia hide and has been merticulously maintained

I'm getting it delivered on Monday so might bore you with a few photos when it arrives.

Anything else I should get other than the trickle charger ?

Cheers Craig,

Don't dismiss the one I mentioned at Bespoke it's a good car... Say's he who didn't buy it. Seriously though it's worth a drive down to see it.

Give me a buzz if you want to have a chat about it.

Anderson jump leads a must, there's no audible lights on warning and just occasionally you walk away without glancing back at that gorgeous rear. Think my charger's an Accumate, works a treat on a timer plug.

On insurance hope you didn't do what I did moving from one car to two and forget NCB is car, not person specific. I ended up with cheap as chips insurance on the Aygo and not so pleasant on the Tuscan until I was able to reverse them. We have Elmwood TVR just round the corner from me, they're ex Mole Valley guys, you know where I am.

I bought a few additional bits and pieces I needed to get everything on this list

http://www.mytuscan.co.uk/faq_main.php#emergencyki...

I also bought a diagnostic cable from racing green, just in case I needed it in the future.

Then booked a weekend in north wales - can't wait :-)

Nitron,s and full Geo, std plus a bit more castor 400/325 springs for fast road use, different makes of tyre need different pressures, so play around to get the balance you want

front tyre width/profile also has big effect on stability

I've had mine nearly 2 months now, and loving it. However, the almighty must know when I'm out as it always seems to rain.
I got my insurance using Churchhills multi car, as they use the NCD on both cars. They take the view you can only drive one car at a time. Came in under £300.
I also looked at the Bespoke Tuscan, nice car but just didn't do it for me. Bought the one I viewed the very next day, from Str8six, it was in superb condition, not as many mods, but around the same price.
All I've got for the car are Jump leads and Accumate charger.
Then I sorted out a new washing and polishing regime to keep it looking good.
When we're out, All my passengers, usually the kids, have to count how many admiring looks we get.
Enjoy
