You had me worried about your sanity for a moment there, redeemed a moment later! although, if it made him happy, then why not? I feel that it is important, if you are lucky enough to have a rare of unusual car, to share it with others. If it generates a smile on someone else's face then it makes me happy too. although, if it made him happy, then why not? Glad to see others think the same.

I understand where you're coming from, although I don't really see it that way...For example, your trip to Sloane Sq. with the wing up - not showing off buy merely using a car you own. Constant throttle blips and 0-30 sprints in Knightsbridge is showing off.
Same for a show like Wheels. Sharing your experiences with the car is I feel being a bloody nice bloke (as many have commented about this thread, and I experienced recently when a chap drove a couple of hundred miles in the rain to let me see and talk about his LCC Rocket). A 'show off' run at a show is fine - it's what people want, and the focus is the car, not the driver. The action of talking/showing/sharing the car isn't itself pretentious or kind, that's determined by the manner in which those actions are performed.

Definitely of potential interest. A key issue with these small manufacturers is build quality/degree of development, and this start-up would be no exception, but the idea of a stripped-out, RWD sports car with a nice chassis and more power than necessary is quite appealing.http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/tvr...

That or I am a very sad man that has spent his life in the motor industry and who loves the dedication and time you have spent to ensure incredible levels of quality to the personal improvements you have made to your car.
I think it's great that you haven't been scared to change the things you didn't like but also have have done it a way that can be returned to stock if you so wish.
You also have a rather fabulous car that you use as it was designed and don't hide it away in some horrible air conditioned bubble!

Unfortunately, as the values of these things go up, the "cost" (impact on market value) of additional miles on a car can be dear. Even though mine is by F1 standards a higher-mileage car, I figure a round trip from UK to the Nordschleife will cost me north of £20k in depreciation. As you say, my mods are reversible. At the same time, I have tried with the mods to keep the car looking as it would have done if it had left the factory 20 years ago in my colour choice, etc.
I do find it amusing when someone questions whether I should have improved my suspension or brakes, yet seems to have no problem with a road-going F1 that is now sporting a honking big wing on the back, which the car never would have had when it was produced.
