Ah, but only one car has the enamel "McLaren" badge inset into the bonnet. wink
Yours?
On the P1s they gave you the choice of bonnet badges: traditional silver-grey rectangle (as on F1) or red "Tick" logo. Because they didn't want to have to make two different bonnets, to fit the different badges, when you bought your £1m car you found that the badge was stuck onto the bonnet, rather than being let into it. I could not accept that, proposed to cut the indent (mortice) by hand myself before they sprayed the bonnet, but for a fee MSO did the job for me, and a beautiful job they did.

Sorry, but

a) I'm not a frequent picture-taker, and

b) the few pictures that I have taken on my phone I have yet to figure out how to upload onto my computer anyhow. wobble

Can't say it would bother me.

I don't understand why people speccing Ferraris simply have to spend several grand extra to have the front wing Scuderia badges which are also hefty enamel badges recessed into the wing itself. I'd just get some decent stickers.

Did they form the recess by cutting an existing bonnet or by putting a 'plug' in the mould before laying up a one off special? I suppose they could have machined a recess or even a hole into a standard one and reinforced the back but I don't think you'd expect that from McLaren.

Agreed on those stupid wing badges. I have never seen a car with them that was not the worse for it.

About a year ago I was thinking about getting a Ferrari on which they came as standard. Had I got the car, I was planning to have some dark Porsche badges made up to replace the Fezza ones. smile
Recently a friend told me about somebody in Canada who did something similar. Fezza learned of it and sued the guy to have them removed. What utter jerks.

I think a bonnet badge - which pretty much every car has - is a different thing.

They cut a hole, which was fine with me and what I would have done myself. Nothing wrong with hand work when it is well done.

I liked the idea of the 599GTO, and was hankering for a V12.

I then came to my senses and realised that the SLS Black Series was the 599GTO in a properly built form and I got that instead. I had to concede on the V12 part, but I've already got a pretty good example of one of those in another car.

Why would you want to put Porsche badges on a Ferrari?

Ferrari 599 GTO Cantare Alternatamente Edizione (1 of 1).

Translated with Google, so don't flame me if it's wrong!

After reading that I had to go and check my car, on the 650S the badge is set into the bonnet, phew!
P1's eh? Pah!

Interesting, and understandable. I wonder if the thought of a Lexus LFA had crossed your mind - goes some way to solving the cylinder count, and (apparently) delivers a sensational, different driving experience. Perhaps its build quality would appeal to someone detail orientated too.... wink

Don't know if they still offer it, but Blue Le Mans is the better version. wink

To reduce the embarrassment of owning a Ferrari.

Wouldn't have to be Porsche badges. I was prepared to use a bit of black electrician's tape if that was all I had to hand. The F bonnet badge I can live with, but those wing shields are pure crap.

Definitely. In ethos it reminds me a bit of the NSX, which is one of my all-time favourites.

I have to mention one thing, however. That LFA steering wheel is awful.
