A week off dating and I'm getting withdrawal, set up another 4 for this week. Might be purposefully targeting those with daddy issues again
You always seem like an enterprising sort and clearly very good at selling yourself, so have you negotiated a lucrative deal with a condom manufacturer to advertise johnnies? Been observing this thread for a while, but never posted to it... so
Ahhhhh yiiiis (also ahhh f**k) going on my first date in 8 years, wtf do you do on a date these days like?
6 years with my ex and a 2 year gap have seen to that so I need suggestions where I should be taking her and such like things??
Managed to snag someone via Tinder much to my surprise.

Anything from coffee, drinks, a meal to some fun activity.Ahhhhh yiiiis (also ahhh f**k) going on my first date in 8 years, wtf do you do on a date these days like?

It depends if you want to impress, what you enjoy and what both are comfy with, plus the time of day and location.
Something relaxed that you can go on from is nice and good luck, enjoy.
Generally somewhere that you can actually chat together (i.e. cinema on it's own is a bit pointless). Also good to find somewhere you're comfortable. Coffee can be good, if a little predictable.
On my side of things there's a new girl at work, so the 8 single guys are all falling over each other to chat her up, I was talking to the only other single girl and we call it the "*local town name* effect" since there's so little options in the same age range. So means everyone is desperate to impress the new person that appears once a year or so!

Calling all London daters...
I met a girl at Creamfields this weekend who's from Tooting and we've arranged to go out next weekend (Friday or Saturday night) and I need some ideas. I don't date in London that often so can't use the tried and tested haunts.
So far I'm thinking The Breakfast Club followed by Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town as I was telling her about the fridge door entrance thing and she didn't believe me. She's never been to Tower 42 so I might take her there for a drink - I've found the lift ride can be a great place for a first kiss (assuming you're alone), but drawing a blank after that. Any good ideas?
ETA: I think I meant Heron Tower? The one with the Sushi bar etc whatever it's called. Bloody city skyscrapers.

The Breakfast Club by Liverpool St? Well I don't know you and the girl (most important bit) so I cannot really comment, but I wouldn't consider BC as a first date spot. If it's burgers you're after, I'd rather go to the Burger and Lobster at One New Change and then drinks at the bar on the top floor (nice views, but short lift ride ). Also, the Royal Exchange right by Bank Station can be a nice place for a first date, if you manage to find a seat upstairs (call to make sure they are not booked for an event). So far I'm thinking The Breakfast Club followed by Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town as I was telling her about the fridge door entrance thing and she didn't believe me. Oh, and it's Sushi Samba on the Heron Tower. Nice drinks on top of high building also at the Hilton Tower Hill.
Good luck and report back!

It's gone a bit quiet here.
Bit like my pof account I think. At this rate its going to delete itself out of sheer boredom. Let the match.com subscription expire as it was just aggravating.Must be a half decent dating site where older gits (not that I think 42 is that old) actually want to meet up instead of sending endless messages.... I guess my demographic is single mums, many will be away on hols.... any other excuses I can use?
My POF profile got deleted for some reason :S. Can't work out why, no rules broken that I can think of, although I did used to log on while at my friends who also had a profile, so maybe it was something to do with that? Her profile has also gone, but don't know if that's down to her deleting it or not.
Don't even bother with Madison on One New Change on a Friday evening if the weather is any good, it's City Bou and Essex Girl hell. Burger and Lobster is a decent shout, or there are numerous places on the southbank between London bridge and Waterloo, everything from Skylon to the Oxo tower for smart cocktails that aren't rammed silly, through to pubs and other bars. Romantic strolls by the river at night/sunset are always good first kiss spots too

Taking a girl you're hoping to impress anywhere else in London these days is a bit cheap.
Although I'll vouch for the cocktails at the Skylon. Awesome.
