As the title suggests, my Audi A4 gives a little creak when first moving off. Can anybody guide me as to the most likely cause?

I'm kind of hoping it's as simple as anti roll bar bushes that need replacing, but if you have any other ideas feel free to help me!

Cheers

Could be anything from the seat to an engine mount, could you give us any more info.

OK, I used to have a car that had a snapped spring and it sounds somewhat like that. I've read on other forums that it could be anything from a loose engine mount to a top strut mounting.

Lack of time and ex-hurricane Bertha means I haven't been able to jack the car up and start wiggling things about.

The best way to describe the noise is that it sounds like if a spring was snapped, the 2 ends rubbing together rather than 1 end being on top of the other and 'dropping' off. I hope that's a better description.

I guess what I'm asking is would it be sensible to change the arb bushes just in case it is that or would that be a total waste of money?

Thanks

ARB bushes more normally make a knock on suspension travel.

If you could narrow it down to a corner that will help.
