F430 Insurance
Discussion
I collect an F430 on Friday 22nd and I would appreciate suggestions for an insurance provider.
The car will be kept on the drive in a good (cheaper) postcode and driven under 3k per year. I'm 33 with a clean license and have a couple of policies that are mid-term:
- 10 years NCB, lv.com, M3;
- 1 years NCB, Admiral, Golf.
I would prefer to leave the above policies as-is unless there is a good reason to do otherwise, purely to keep things simple. My plan for the F430 is to start a third policy, obviously with zero NCB, and the best quote on that basis so far is £854 by Admiral, who I'd prefer to avoid for this car if possible.
Any suggestions for providers or alternative approaches to this would be most appreciated.

They have a reputation for very low pay outs and you can't agree an agreed value with them as far as I am aware, and in general I have read very little in the way of positive feedback about them.
Hope never to find out if they're any good or not but as regards worrying about agreed value, surely not a problem if you have a return to invoice GAP insurance policy running alongside?purpleperil said:

Gap insurance is related to finance, isn't it? An agreed value is important to me because I've read many accounts of the cheaper insurers offering well below market valve even after provision of evidence to counter the settlement offer; hopefully I'll never have to test the theory, as you say, but I don't want to sink a considerable amount cash into a car without having that peace of mind.purpleperil said:
Are you sure? The last car I bought had no finance but the main dealer went out of his way to sell a GAP policy on it - would've been a case of mis-selling if can only be related to finance.
You're right: http://www.which.co.uk/money/insurance/guides/gap-... - it's not necessarily tied to finance. Interesting, thank you.Thanks for the prices above. For reference my best two are:
Admiral: £849.06
Nowell and Richards: Aviva, choice of repairer inc. Ferrari, Europe breakdown cover, Legal cover, £1,189
Seems very good given I'm not using any NCB.
Andrew, the M3 is insured with lv.com who won't insure a 430. I'd have to chancel that policy half way through its term so I'll leave it running this year and move the NCB to the 430 next year.
